What Avatar star Zoe Saldana just said about Trump may RUIN her career

Just days ago we posted a story about actress Janine Turner saying Conservatives in Hollywood are vilified and shunned. If you “out yourself” as a conservative you might as well forget getting work in Tinseltown.

In fact, Hollywood’s conservative community meets in secret with “The Friends of Abe,” described on its Facebook page as “the conservative entertainment industry “underground.” Founded by Gary Sinise, FOA continues to be a behind-the-scenes force in Hollywood on behalf of showbiz folks on the right.” The organization fiercely guards its member list and keeps the names private.

In general, celebrities who speak out on issues without leaning heavily to the left are heavily trolled, so it takes a special brand of courage to speak out.

Actress Zoe Saldana of Star Trek and Avatar fame may not be a conservative — nor was she apparently a Trump supporter — but she had some sage words recently about Donald Trump, Hollywood and the election.

Per The Daily Beast, the Hispanic actress of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent, with African and Haitian roots, took it upon herself to defend the indefensible, placing some of the blame for Trump’s shock election victory on Tinseltown for bullying the world’s premier bully.

“We got cocky and became arrogant and we also became bullies,” Saldana told AFP of Trump.

“We were trying to single out a man for all these things he was doing wrong,” she continued, “and that created empathy in a big group of people in America that felt bad for him and that are believing in his promises.”

“I’m learning from [the Trump win] with a lot of humility,” she told AFP. “If we have people continue to be strong and educate ourselves and stand by equal rights and treat everyone with respect, we don’t go back to those times.”

Naturally, Twitter erupted. And did not treat her with respect.

Typical liberal tolerance.
