Earlier this week, Black Lives Matter activists DeRay McKesson and Tariq Nasheed set their sights on attacking the new “War for the Planet of the Apes” film, claiming it was racist. The allegation stems from a poster of the movie, depicting an ape in a blue vest, which McKesson believed was a veiled insult.

Whoopi Goldberg took a few minutes on “The View” to set the two of them straight.
According to The Blaze:Mckesson, seemingly frustrated by the depiction, posted two since-deleted tweets disparaging the “War for the Planet of the Apes” creators for their “lack of consciousness.”
“Given the history of rendering black people as apes, I’m offended & appalled by the lack of consciousness in Hollywood. #PlanetOfTheApes,” he wrote. “In associating black people w/ apes, active work is being done to perpetuate the dehumanization of black ppl in mass media.”
But on Wednesday, Goldberg decided to give Mckesson a history lesson.“Get over yourself!” Goldberg told Mckesson, after instructing the liberal protester to “go back and watch the 1968 original and check out what the apes were wearing.” (Spoiler alert: they were wearing blue vests.)
“This has nothing to do with you,” the co-host said. “This was a movie about what happens when mankind doesn’t pay attention to the environment, to how we treat animals, and each other. That’s what that movie was about!”
Whoopi, strangely enough, knocks this one out of the park.
The “Planet of the Apes” series existed long before McKesson, and the image of the blue vest is, indeed, an homage to the look of the apes in the original.
Unfortunately, our society has become so overtly sensitive, many have now been fully trained to look and see racism where none actually exists, which has inevitably led to the desensitization of many to the charge of legitimate racism, allowing it to go unchecked.
In other words, they have created the very thing they claim to be fighting against, and are so brainwashed and deeply entrenched in their views that they can’t even see that’s the case.
Will this young generation of leftists ever learn?
