The liberal media went into hysterics when, via one of his midnight Tweets, Donald Trump claimed he and his associates had been surveilled for months, and that Barack Obama and his team where the ones behind it. That led to an (ongoing) investigation, which in turn, led to House Intelligence Committee Chair Representative Devin Nunes (R-CA) admitting that Trump and his transition team were “incidentally” surveilled and names of his transition team were “unmasked.”Now another prominent voice is speaking up, and claiming that both Susan Rice and Barack Obama had to be in the know when it came to both the surveilling and leaking classified intel on Trump to the media.
Richard Grenell is the longest serving U.S. spokesman at the United Nations, he also served as national security spokesman for Mitt Romney during his 2012 presidential campaign. Now expected to be nominated by Trump to serve as U.S. NATO ambassador, Grenell is no rookie and is certainly one with access to the “in-the-know” Washington grapevine.Grenell says that Susan Rice’s role in unmasking American names from classified foreign intelligence reports has been long discussed in State Department circles. He believes the incidental collection of intel on Americans in Donald Trump’s inner circle was weaponized into leaks meant to hurt President Trump, and if Rice is at the center of a plot to leak classified intel, then Barack Obama certainly must have been aware of it, too.
From the Daily Mail:
“The diplomat who is in line to be America’s next NATO ambassador said Monday that former National Security Adviser Susan Rice has been suspected ‘for weeks’ of involvement in an effort to publicly unmask Donald Trump associates whose names appeared in foreign intelligence reports. And he claimed ten days ago that if Rice and her deputy Ben Rhodes were behind politically motivated leaks of classified intelligence, former president Barack Obama was also in the know.
‘Former State Department colleagues of mine have been talking about Susan Rice’s role for weeks,’ Richard Grenell told DailyMail.com on Monday…
Rice is the Obama administration official whose name became a punchline after her repeated false claims that the 2012 Benghazi terror attacks were caused by a crude Internet video. From her position as chief of the National Security Council last year, according to a Bloomberg report, Rice asked government agencies to identify names that had been withheld from raw intelligence reports linked with Trump campaign and transition figures.
There is not necessarily anything illegal or unusual about a national security adviser seeking to unmask names in raw reports, in order to fully understand the meaning of intercepted conversations.
But leaking those names to people who lack the security clearance to view the source documents is a federal felony.“Yes this is the very same Susan Rice who, after the Benghazi attack, was sent out to face the press corps and made the talk show rounds to repeat the lie that the whole thing was a spontaneous event brought on by protesters who were upset over a video on the internet (for months), who just happened to be out in the streets…with machine guns…and rocket-propelled grenades…and mortar rounds…on 9/11.
Once her ruse was uncovered, and the whole world knew it was a lie, Rice was promoted by Obama to National Security Adviser. If this investigation ends where it appears to be going, Rice may yet get another change of status — from former presidential staffer to wearer of an orange jumpsuit.
