This Sunday I’ll be attending the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) dinner in Dallas. I’ve always sought to be a strong supporter and defender of the State of Israel and its right of existence. Funny — apparently such a policy position angers many on the progressive socialist left — then again, that’s where you find the most vehement anti-Semitism. Well, the cat is out of the bag regarding fully embracing an anti-Israel position when it comes to President Barack Obama. As reported by the Washington Free Beacon, “President Barack Obama has announced in a rare statement that he will not follow newly passed measures aimed at boosting the Israeli economy and strengthening ties between the United States and the Jewish state, according to a statement issued by the president.
Obama stated that while he would sign the new trade resolution[a comprehensive act that covering all nations], portions of which focus on combatting economic boycotts of Israel, he would not enforce certain pro-Israel provisions that order the United States to stop partnering with countries that support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, or BDS, which aims to isolate Israel. The president’s rejection of these provisions comes two weeks after the White House issued a separate statement expressing support for every provision of the trade bill except for those focusing on strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship.
The Obama administration has repeatedly opposed efforts to fight the BDS movement over the past several months, with several senior officials expressing support for European efforts to explicitly label Jewish-made products produced in disputed areas of Israel.
Obama claimed in the statement that his administration does not back the BDS movement. However, he will not uphold parts of the new trade legislation that seek to combat the BDS-backed labeling of Jewish goods, which the Israeli government has described as anti-Semitic.”
So it appears President Obama is speaking out of both sides of his mouth, which reminds me of the Bible verse James 1:8 (NIV), “Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.” President Obama is saying the United States doesn’t support the BDS movement but is happy to do business with everyone else who does. This reminds me of the kid in the neighborhood who wouldn’t fight you, but would sneak around behind you and bend down so someone else could push you back, so you fall onto the ground. Then everyone ELSE would jump in and beat you.
I don’t know what’s worse: having the feigned position of not supporting BDS but enabling everyone else to isolate Israel, or maybe just coming right out and saying you support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions.
It would be far more honorable for Obama to just come right out and say that he despises Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel and will do everything in his power to see the Jewish state fail. I know, Obama will never admit to that which his actions indicate. Furthermore, it would take courage and integrity to truly admit what he does believe — heck, that’s what I like about Bernie Sanders. At least the man is honest about being a socialist. But even more disturbing about this episode is, while Obama is enabling the economic crippling of Israel by others, he is enabling the economic success of Iran by the same actors. And how utterly despicable it is for the U.S. to take the position of supporting a country like Iran. A militant Islamic regime that has the blood of our troops on its hands and who just recently took our ten Sailors captive at gunpoint. What has Israel done that is comparable?
And here the Obama administration is releasing billions of dollars to the mad mullahs of Iran enabling them to proliferate Islamic terror — and threaten our supposed best ally in the Middle East, Israel.
What is perplexing is our American Jewish community simply worships at the altar of Barack Obama. Not all, but a substantial majority. Where are the Jewish Democrat voices of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Ted Deutch, Eliot Engel, Chuck Schumer, and Lois Frankel? Yeah, we know where their allegiance lies: party far supersedes their people. Barack Obama has been absolutely brilliant in tapping into the secular Jewish community which has no relationship with the State of Israel. For the secular Jewish community, the religion is liberal progressivism…they are Jews in Name Only (JINOs). And I can speak to this having been a Member of Congress from South Florida.I just have to ask, at what point in time will AIPAC realize the whole mantra about “bipartisanship” just ain’t working? The new American Socialist Party has been paying lip service for quite some time, and if you visit most American college campuses you’ll find the virulent anti-Semitism is aligned with progressive socialism — the left. Just study the history of one George Soros. How ironic, the left wages a war on Christians via its deep-seated secular humanism, yet it’s groups like Christians United for Israel which are raising their voices stentorian in support of Israel.
The case of Barack Obama being an Islamist sympathizer is well-supported. The case of his being an enabler of the enemies of Israel can no longer be debated.
