Mitch McConnell just proved EXACTLY why we have Donald Trump

Raise your hand if you also have trouble believing what’s going on in our country right now. Thought so.

I (Michele Hickford) do this for a living and even I can’t believe the “stuff” (using the term loosely) we’re being fed by our government which we’re supposed to swallow, say “mmm, tasty” and ask for more.

As you know by now, the House Select Committee released its final report on Benghazi yesterday. It confirmed a bunch of stuff we already knew, including:

> Hillary Clinton LIED about a stupid video causing the attack – not just to the American people, but to the victims’ families.

> Under her watch she failed to provide adequate security for Ambassador Stevens and his staff.

> She lied repeatedly about her private email server regarding whether she used it for classified information, and appears to have used it to avoid public scrutiny of fundraising activities for her family foundation while in office, including from foreign donors and governments.

As Breitbart says, The Benghazi report details a pattern of incompetence, negligence, and dishonesty by Clinton and her associates.

But according to our dear friend and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, that’s all fine and dandy. One day after the damning report was issued, ol’ Mitch had this to say about Hillary: “She’s an intelligent and capable person, no question about it,” adding that he had worked well with her in the Senate and would be able to work with her as president.

And in fact, he might just prefer to work with her than Donald Trump, because McConnell doesn’t think Trump has actually proven himself qualified yet.

Sen. Mitch McConnell: “Trump clearly needs to change, in my opinion, to win the general election. What I’ve said to him both publicly and privately: ‘You’re a great entertainer. You turn on audiences. You’re good before a crowd. You have a lot of Twitter followers. That worked fine for you in the primaries. But now that you are in the general, people are looking for a level of seriousness that is typically conveyed by having a prepared text and Teleprompter and staying on message.’ So my hope is that he is beginning to pivot and become what I would call a more serious and credible candidate for the highest office in the land.”

Geoff Bennett: “At the moment, though, I hear you saying he does not meet that threshold of credibility?”

McConnell: “He’s getting closer. Getting closer.”

You know what’s getting closer, closer Senator? The day you have to stand for re-election – unfortunately still four years away.
