As liberals continue to collectively go bonkers over the election of Donald Trump to the highest office in the land, ignorant protesters have called for the electoral college to be abolished.Apparently, these folks don’t realize that by ridding the country of the electoral college, many states will then be underrepresented in major national elections, basically allowing massive liberal centers like New York and Los Angeles to decide who leads our nation.
Well, how appropriate then that California Sen. Barbara Boxer is taking the lead on this cause célèbre and has introduced a bill to ban the electoral college. You can almost smell the political opportunity Boxer senses from at least looking like she’s trying to do something for these intellectually-challenged individuals.
According to the Washington Examiner, Boxer, a California Democrat who is retiring from the Senate, introduced the bill because she feels it’s unfair Clinton lost the election despite having the most votes.
“In my lifetime, I have seen two elections where the winner of the general election did not win the popular vote,” Boxer said. “When all the ballots are counted, Hillary Clinton will have won the popular vote by a margin that could exceed two million votes, and she is on track to have received more votes than any other presidential candidate in history except Barack Obama.“This is the only office in the land where you can get more votes and still lose the presidency. The Electoral College is an outdated, undemocratic system that does not reflect our modern society, and it needs to change immediately. Every American should be guaranteed that their vote counts.”
The bill will die in Congress if it’s not passed through both chambers by the end of the session, which ends in December. It’s unlikely a Republican-controlled Congress will bring up the bill.
As you can probably imagine, folks on the Internet have plenty to say about this idiotic move, and some of the ripping Boxer receives is absolutely delicious.via Twitchy:
Weird. Not a single call to end the electoral college this entire election. Until it was over.

There’s little doubt Boxer knows this is an exercise in futility, but then again, she’s not really doing this to succeed, is she? All about optics here.
The electoral college isn’t perfect, but it’s the absolute best system available to make sure states all get a chance to play a significant role in electing leadership for our country.
Everyone has a voice, and that voice matters. This system makes sure voting is a worthwhile endeavor.
It’s time for liberals to grow up a bit and just accept that Donald Trump will be president, just like we accepted Obama when he won in 2008 and 2012.
