President Obama, if you do this, it will be your MOST DESPICABLE act ever…

Charles Dickens once wrote a story called “A Tale of Two Cities.” As the World Library describes it, The novel depicts the plight of the French peasantry demoralized by the French aristocracy in the years leading up to the revolution, the corresponding brutality demonstrated by the revolutionaries toward the former aristocrats in the early years of the revolution, and many unflattering social parallels with life in London during the same period.

This past Saturday at the Reagan Ranch Center in Santa Barbara California, I had the honor of speaking to the Marines of Kilo Company 3d Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, “Dark Horse.”

From September 2010 to April 2011, the Marines of Dark Horse were deployed to the dangerous Sangin District of Helmand province where they encountered severe casualties — 25 dead, 200 wounded, many losing limbs. The history of this venerable Marine combat battalion dates back to World War I at Belleau Woods where the Marines earned the moniker “Devil Dogs.” Prior to 2004, their unit crest contained the motto, “Consummate Professionals, Get Some.”

You ask, what does Dickens’ novel have to do with these brave Marines? Well before I answer that, you must read this:

As reported by The Guardian, “US army sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, the former prisoner of war who is accused of endangering comrades by walking off his post in Afghanistan, is asking President Barack Obama to pardon him before leaving office. White House and Justice Department officials said on Saturday that Bergdahl had submitted copies of the clemency request seeking leniency.

If granted by Obama, it would allow Bergdahl to avert  a military trial scheduled for April 2017 where he will face charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. The misbehavior charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison. If the pardon isn’t granted, Bergdahl’s defense team said it would expand its legal strategy to the new administration by filing a motion arguing President-elect Donald Trump violated Bergdahl’s due process rights with scathing public comments about the case.

The pardon request to Obama, first reported by the New York Times, was confirmed by White House and Justice Department officials who weren’t authorized to discuss the matter by name.

Bergdahl, of Hailey, Idaho, walked off his post in Afghanistan in 2009 and was held captive by the Taliban and its allies for five years. The Obama administration’s decision in May 2014 to exchange him for five Taliban prisoners held at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, prompted criticism that included some Republicans accusing Obama of jeopardizing nation’s safety.”

Let’s discuss a tale of two types of Americans: two types of individuals and how they see their duty to serve and protect our country and its way of life.

Here we have a coward, a traitor, a deserter in Bowe Bergdahl, yet to the political liberal progressive elitists, he was deemed someone who served with honor and distinction. Those were the words of President Obama’s national security advisor, Susan Rice. It was Barack Obama himself who invited Bergdahl’s parents to a “special” Rose Garden announcement when their son had been recovered.

I will be the first to admit we don’t want any American held by the enemy, but five years? That’s not typical of the Taliban, who would have certainly executed any other American by beheading, and videotaped it.

And as an aside, what happened to those five senior Taliban leaders who were released? Something tells me they just may not be in Qatar anymore.

But back to the point at hand, about leaving Americans in harm’s way. Why was it that Obama decided not to lift a finger for those brave Americans on that rooftop in Benghazi? I can only surmise based on Susan Rice’s comments, Obama doesn’t deem them as serving with honor and distinction — to this day, not a single family member of those lost have been invited to the White House.

Here I was in California, standing before real men of honor, part of a unit legacy of honor and distinction. Why doesn’t this president recognize them? How can it be that such a simple case – Bergdahl that is — is now going on for over two years in seeking resolution. The evidence is overwhelming: Bergdahl is a deserter who walked away from his combat post.

We know others lost their lives, men of honor, in searching for Bergdahl, who was transferred back to U.S. custody after five years looking none the worse…and obviously not suffering from any combat psychological effects.

Compare this to another tale, that of young Army 1LT Clint Lorance, a combat Soldier who replaced a platoon leader who’d been severely wounded in the dangerous Zheri/Maiwand District AO of Kandahar Province.

Clint ordered fire on the enemy who was conducting scout reconnaissance of their checkpoint position, mounted in twos on dirt bikes. The Army quickly conducted its trial and sentenced 1LT Lorance to 20 years imprisonment for murder.

Here we have trial lawyers for Bergdahl, stalling, and casting blame elsewhere, and Bergdahl himself seeking a presidential pardon. We now know the Army prosecution withheld critical evidence that would exonerate 1LT Clint Lorance, just as they did in the case of Army 1LT Michael Behenna. Where is the compassion for Lorance? Who is asking for a pardon for him? Well, there are many who are, and here is how you can join us in supporting him. I’m honored to be a part of the effort by the people, you know, us simple peasants and serfs, who mean little to the progressive socialist political aristocrats like Barack Obama and his disciples.

The parallel to Dickens’ novel is easy to realize in this tale of two types of men whom we send into combat, and two types of reactions.

We have Marines such as those of the “Dark Horse” Battalion and Soldiers like 1LT Clint Lorance. On the other hand we have Bowe Bergdahl, praised by the Obama administration, traded for five senior members of a terrorist organization, a deserter, now requesting a presidential pardon for abject cowardice in the face of the enemy.

We know Obama has a definite affinity for criminals, whether drug-related or criminal illegal aliens. One can only come to that conclusion based on the record number of sentence commutations he’s granted, and his silence on the issue of sanctuary cities.

And if we awake to hear Bowe Bergdahl has been granted a pardon by Barack Obama, we then know Obama sees nothing wrong with the most despicable and deplorable behavior on the field of combat.

And so it will be, the revolution of the everyday men and women of America will continue against the corrupt, cronyism of the politically-elite aristocracy of the liberal progressive socialists.

I remain committed and dedicated to the release of Army 1LT Clint Lorance, and ask that you join me in that effort, along with the rest of the Leavenworth Ten. If Barack Obama pardons Bergdahl, those men have no business being incarcerated with the likes of PVT Bradley Manning and Nidal Hasan. But Bowe Bergdahl does deserve to be a roommate with those individuals, those lacking honor and distinction.

Frankly, Bowe Bergdahl deserves imprisonment for the rest of his life. The actual punishment for what he did — desertion from a combat duty post during a time of combat engagement — is execution.

This kabuki dance about delaying his trial must end. The Army has rushed to charging, trial, and sentencing other Soldiers, and we know using questionable legal tactics — such as the case of 1LT Clint Lorance. Yet we hear nothing of his case from this current administration.

If Obama wants to pardon a Soldier, then let it be US Army 1LT Clint Lorance of Texas. Here is a young man who stood and faced the enemy…did not desert. It’s a very interesting tale of two Soldiers, and it can be a very telling of a tale of the outgoing president.
