After mosque attack, Muslim mayor who said terror ‘part and parcel of city life’ conveniently “DISCOVERS…”

Last September, London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, said in an interview that “part and parcel of living in a great, global city is you’ve got to be prepared for these things [terror attacks], you’ve got to be vigilant, you’ve got to support the police.” Many interpreted the comments as an admission that Khan was in the “acceptance stage” when it came to combating terrorism.

His weak response to terrorism continued even after the Manchester attack, especially considering that we learned not long after that there are over 23,000 radical jihadists identified in the UK, 300 of which are believed to post a threat and are being investigated or actively monitored. In London in particular, there are 400 jihadists reported to have taken up arms for ISIS, then returned to the city.

Khan’s response to that frightening fact was “I can’t follow 400 people,” before trying to use budget cuts as the rationale as to why no one kept tabs on those men.

Certainly an interesting choice of words, because after Muslims were targeted in a terror attack in Finsbury Park, all of a sudden a lack of funds is no problem.

According to the Evening Standard:

Khan has said extra police will be deployed to protect Muslim communities observing Ramadan after a suspected terror attack on worshippers near Finsbury Park mosque.

The Mayor condemned the “horrific terrorist attack” in which one person was killed and 10 people injured when a van ploughed into pedestrians near the north London mosque in the early hours of Monday morning.

Dozens of people had just finished prayers at the mosque when the vehicle veered into crowds in Seven Sisters Road at about 12:15am.

Well, it’s great to see that police resources are, in fact, available all of a sudden!

Does this mean we won’t see any efforts on Khan’s part to combat Islamic extremism unless those extremists attack other Muslims? It seems like nothing else will encourage the guy to act.
