Over the past two decades we’ve seen an unprecedented drop in gun violence. Since 1993, gun homicides have been cut in half.
Or as the media reported it, America’s gun problem is out of control.
Most Americans have bought the hype – and actually believe that gun violence has increased since the 90s. It’s not hard to see why considering the angle the media has taken on the issue.
Estimates vary on how common self-defensive gun use is, from the hundreds of thousands to the millions. But how often do we hear about those cases?
Bearing Arms recently reported on one such case.
Three Sheriff’s deputies are on administrative leave following a March 7 shooting that resulted when they responded to a domestic disturbance call. Once they arrived, the make suspect proceeded to shoot first. The deputies shot more accurately, as well they should, since two of the three were the agency’s firearms instructors.
The suspect came outside and fired a large-caliber rifle in the direction of the deputies, the sheriff’s office said. The deputies returned fire, killing Graham.
A woman at the scene was safely removed from the scene.
