Just in: Trump tells UN what we’ve ALL been waiting to hear…

From the early days on the campaign trail and continuing on to this very day, Donald Trump has been consistent in his claims that the United States will return to being a staunch ally of Israel and that he’s not afraid of a stare-down with NATO, the United Nations or anyone else – confident he won’t be the one to blink first.

Trump has once again proven there’s bite behind his bark as this morning the Trump State Department has announced it will boycott a session of the U.N.’s Human Rights Council (and possibly all future ones) amid growing concerns by the administration over the U.N.’s anti-Israel stance.

The move comes just days after a U.N. agency published a report noting that “Israel has established an apartheid regime that dominates the Palestinian people as a whole” and the Trump administration got the responsible U.N. official to resign.

The author of that report, who has served as executive secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA) since 2010, Rima Khalef, resigned after the Trump administration, working in conjunction with Israel, pressured the U.N. secretary-general to demand she withdraw the report.

Khalef, a Jordanian national, refused the demand to repudiate her report, instead choosing to resign. The report has now been removed from the UNESCWA website.

According to senior administration officials who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon, today’s boycott of the U.N.s Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is due to its efforts to advance an anti-Israel agenda. The Free Beacon reports:

The UNHRC, which includes member countries cited for mass human rights abuses, is poised on Monday to adopt at least five anti-Israel resolutions, prompting outrage in the Trump administration over what officials described as the council’s unjust bias against the Jewish state.”

The action on these items has prompted the Trump administration to boycott the council and refuse to attend the Monday meeting, according to administration officials apprised of the situation who spoke with the Free Beacon.

On Monday, the UNHRC is set to consider an agenda known as the “human rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories.” It is said to include several anti-Israel declarations that the Trump administration fiercely objects to.

Senior Trump administration officials who spoke to the Free Beacon said the upcoming resolutions affirm the U.N.’s unacceptable bias against Israel, which remains the only member nation that has specific agenda items aimed against it.

The Trump administration told the Free Beacon it is fully committed to voting against “every resolution” targeting Israel and that it will encourage allies to do the same.”

In January of 2015 France suffered the terrorist attack on the offices of Charlie Hebdo. Days later more than 40 world leaders joined French President Francois Hollande for a march of solidarity. The United States skipped it. Then in one of the most ridiculous bits of failed foreign policy of the century, to get some egg off his face, Barack Obama sent James Taylor to perform his song, “You’ve Got a Friend.”

Then of course there was Barack Obama’s final parting shot to Israel when he refused to veto the UN’s December condemnation of Israel, and then to add insult to injury, quietly released $221 million to the Palestinian Authority that GOP members of Congress had been blocking.

Trump is proving that merely saying “We’re your friend” and taking actions to back the claim up are two different things.
