Remember about a month ago when President Barack Obama stated America was at its highest level of respect internationally? And of course, well, it was all because of him. So I just have to wonder, did anyone survey the Iranians? Because I think they would have had a very different assessment. As reported over at the Minneapolis Star Tribune via Associated Press:
Iran will not allow American or Canadian inspectors working for the U.N. nuclear watchdog to visit its nuclear facilities, an official said in remarks broadcast by state TV on Thursday.Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran will only allow inspectors from countries that have diplomatic relations with it. The previously undisclosed remarks were made during a Sunday meeting with parliamentarians.
“American and Canadian inspectors cannot be sent to Iran,” said Araghchi. “It is mentioned in the deal that inspectors should be from countries that have diplomatic relations with Islamic republic of Iran.”
He also said inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency will not have access to “sensitive and military documents.”So, what part of the Iranian nuclear agreement included this statute? This is just further confirmation that the Obama administration operated from a position of weakness and disrespect and are being disregarded. I must commend the Canadians for stating they won’t relieve sanctions on Iran.
Now, ask yourself a simple question. The Iranians state we’re not authorized to be a part of nuclear inspection teams — what gives them authorization to hold Americans hostage?
It’s not that they have authorization; it’s that they have no fear. And yes folks, as my dad, Buck West, would say to me, “fear is a motivator.” We have a president running around trying to make us believe his foreign policy of abject acquiescence, appeasement and cowardice is the only course of action — as opposed to “war.” When you take that position, the result is a belligerent Iran that tells America — well, Obama — to go pound sand. So what are we to think of these inspections — which first were supposed to be anytime, unannounced; then became 24 days with notice; and now Iran says, you ain’t invited. What will Obama do? Y’all know the answer, he will restore diplomatic relations with Iran — the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism — so he can then say, see, now we can be a part of the inspection teams. After all, we do have diplomatic relations with Cuba — a hardline communist regime that hasn’t changed anything about its manner or behavior regarding individual rights. This is all so inexcusable, but of course, I can just hear the Obama propaganda machine kicking in to explain this all away at the next White House press briefing. Expect to hear this is just political rhetoric and spin from Iran, and that this is just the Iranians displaying desperation.
What the kids of the Obama administration don’t realize is that Iran has state-run TV and the message being disseminated to their people is, they have power. The message being sent across the Middle East is Iran took on the United States and won in every way. The message sent across the globe is America has no respect and regard.
The members of the U.S. House of Representatives have begun their August recess. Every single one of them must be made to understand they must vote “NO” on this Iranian agreement. This will be a test as to who is dedicated to Obama and partisan politics, and who puts America first. There is no way any liberal progressive can explain away the words and actions of Iran and make us believe this Iranian agreement is, as Nancy Pelosi stated, “a diplomatic masterpiece.” This is the same person who said we had to pass the Affordable Care Act in order to find out what’s in it. I think the words of Pelosi inform us all about what she places first — certainly not the future and security of our republic. The left keeps saying there’s no alternative. I say the alternative to disrespect is respect.
