EYE ROLL: Look who Pelosi’s blaming for Alexandria shooting NOW

Not long after the horrific shooting in Alexandria, Rep. Nancy Pelosi talked a whole lot about unity and standing together, you know, typical post-tragedy talking points politicians often use to appear like decent human beings.

Well, it seems it was just empty words, because yesterday, Pelosi dropped the call to unity and has started finger-pointing, assigning the blame for yesterday’s shooting not on her own party for it’s carelessly spoken words and calls for violence, but on Fox News.

According to TheBlaze, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) left talk of unity behind just one day after the shooting at a Republican congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, and blamed the violence on Fox News and Republicans, according to Fox News.

The shooter, 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson, was a left-wing activist with an intense hatred for President Donald Trump. Hodgkinson targeted GOP legislators, wounding five, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) before being fatally shot by Capitol Police.

“I think that the comments made by my Republican colleagues are outrageous,” Pelosi said Thursday to reporters.

Pelosi claimed that news outlets like Fox News are to blame for today’s political climate and cited a 2010 case where a man had threatened Pelosi by phone when she was House speaker. According to Fox News, officials said the man recited her home address and “warned her not to back Obamacare if she ever wanted to see her house again.”

“His mother said, ‘He just watches too much Fox TV.’ That’s what she said,” Pelosi told reporters, adding that the “crude and disgusting” things she hears come “from the outside.”

“It may be inflamed, I don’t know. This mom said it was Fox News,” Pelosi reportedly added.

Oh come ON.

Fox News isn’t to blame for this nonsense.

But look at all of the calls for violence against conservatives from the likes of Kathy Griffin? Sure, she may not have come out and said it, but that picture of Trump’s severed head certainly got the point across.

It takes all Americans to put a stop to this nonsense, and that can only be done when folks on both sides agree to act like adults and tone down the rhetoric.
