As we reviewed this morning, at the G-20 press conference in Turkey, President Obama stated, “… I’m not interested in… posing or pursuing some notion of American leadership or America winning or whatever other slogans they come up with that has no relationship to what is actually going to work to protect the American people and to protect the people in the region who are getting killed and to protect our allies and people like France. I’m too busy for that.”Yep, President Obama is just too busy to talk positively about America — heck, we don’t need to talk about leadership or winning — that has nothing to do with protecting the American people.
You see, this is the notion of “leading from behind,” which of course down South we call “following.” But hey, I guess that works fine for President Obama — good thing he’s not the coach of your favorite college football team. So let me ask a basic question, would you want President Obama to coach your team? Well, based upon Obama’s recent comments in Malaysia I think we will keep Coach Butch Jones up on ol’ Rocky Top!As reported by CNS News — and may I say, nice shirt Mr. President — “President Barack Obama, speaking at a town hall meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday, criticized the United States of America for telling other people to do what Americans fail to do themselves, for “growing inequality,” and because “our political system does not work as well as it should.”
The U.S. president was speaking to a group of people associated with Young Southeast Asia Leaders Initiative, a program run by the U.S. State Department. The State Department’s 2014 Country Report on Human Rights in Malaysia—published this year—cited the country in which Obama was speaking for limiting the freedoms of speech and religion and for allowing “Islamic authorities” to enter people’s homes without warrants. “
I know, damn me for bringing this up, but why does President Obama say such things in a country with such violations? We just had five folks on our Supreme Court – unconstitutionally — rule that they can redefine what marriage is in our Republic based on the 14th Amendment equal protection clause. Does Malaysia have an equal protection clause? It appears not. Then ask yourself, why does President Obama need to do a “town hall meeting” in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia? Last time I checked these were not his constituents.Imagine this, when I was a Battalion Commander in the 4th Infantry Division what would happen if I accepted a speaking engagement at Ft. Stewart Georgia, home of the 3rd Infantry Division, and bad-mouthed my own division? I do not think General Odierno would’ve taken too kindly to it. So why is it that we would accept this truly disturbing behavior from our president?
The purpose of the trip to Malaysia was to discuss economic and trade issues. When you’re done, you leave. Why is it necessary to hold a town hall meeting with “Young SE Asia Leaders Initiative?” And why is this a program paid for by American taxpayer dollars? I’d prefer we develop our own leaders, after all, based on President Obama’s statements, we have issues in our Constitutional Republic.
Here are examples of what Obama said, feel free to read the entire transcript if you just can’t get enough.> “Now, keep in mind, the United States, we always have to be a little careful because we’re such a large country and we have a lot of influence. I think there are times sometimes when people say they don’t want us meddling in their internal affairs. And the United States has to have some humility because there have been times where we did the wrong thing. There have been times where we have problems in our own country. And so we will want to go tell other people what to do, but then back home we’re not always doing what we say we should do.”
> “But when you go to the United States, I think there are still some anxieties. And I would say that, number one, in the United States, there is a growing inequality that I think is a real problem not just for the United States but around the world. And when people feel economic stress and inequality, then I think politics become harder because people are afraid for their futures and sometimes politics can become much more divided than it used to be.”
> “And what I would say to young leaders, what sort of pitfalls should you avoid, I would say, number one, it is very important to avoid any political system where money overwhelms ideas. And the United States politics process has become so expensive and it lasts so long, and even though I was successful at it, we spend hundreds of millions of dollars in television advertising and in all the things that go into a U.S. presidential campaign.”Of course the last comment comes from the fella who raised billions and refused public campaign financing. I suppose you need lots of money in order to populate the lies and deceit.
America is the “land of the free” because we are the “home of the brave” However, only a coward travels to a faraway land and speaks ill of his own country. Yes, I said coward. And this type of abject cowardice will lead to our no longer being the land of the free, but perhaps this is all part of the fundamental transformation Barack Hussein Obama promised five days before the 2008 election. Coach Butch Jones instituted a new slogan at Tennessee, “I’ll give my all for Tennessee today.” It’s proudly displayed in the Vols football locker room in Neyland Stadium and the players touch that sign before “running through the T.” I know because last year during a tour of the locker room before the Alabama game I touched that sign. At Notre Dame they have a sign that says, “Play like a champion.”
What theme do you think represents Coach Barack Obama’s America? I’ll tell you one thing. It ain’t one I want to slap before taking the field.
