Uh-oh: MORE trouble for Comey…

The latest scandal plaguing President Donald Trump comes from the New York Times just days after the Washington Post cited anonymous sources claiming Trump shared classified information with Russia’s ambassador.

Trump is under fire after a New York Times report alleged he asked former FBI director James Comey to shut down the federal investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn. A memo that Comey wrote following a meeting he had with Trump in February, allegedly noted that the president told him, “I hope you can let this go,” in regards to the Flynn investigation.

Contradicting the contents of the memo is none other than Comey himself, who testified under oath earlier this month that the president never asked the FBI to stop doing anything for a political purpose.

As GotNews reported, Former FBI Director James Comey testified under Senate oath May 3rd that the Trump administration had not pressured his agency to halt any investigation for political purposes. Comey admitted that the FBI has always been free to operate without political interference—flying in the face of Democrats’ paranoid delusions about Russia and President Donald J. Trump, and exposing for what it is a new political witch hunt Wednesday by enemies within the president’s own Justice Department.

Videotaped testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee blows apart the phony narrative New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt wove on Tuesday, which resulted in Mueller’s appointment. Schmidt’s only sources were anonymous. They claimed that on Feb. 14th, the day after National Security Adviser Michael Flynn resigned, Trump had asked Comey to end an investigation into Flynn’s connections to Russia.

Watch for yourselves below:

So what happened? Either the memo is “fake news,” or Comey lied under oath.

On Fox News last night, correspondent James Rosen pondered why if Trump tried to interfere with the FBI’s activities, it took so long for the public to find out. “If James Comey was so fastidious about updating the Congress every time there was a major break in the investigations that he had confirmed the FBI was involved with, it seems curious why this memo would only be surfacing now after he’s been fired,” observed Rosen.

Comey has been invited to testify by House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz next Wednesday. We’ll see how he explains that if he accepts.
