Ever since the House passed the GOP health care bill yesterday, liberals have taken a swift dive off the deep end, resorting to outbursts of emotionalism combined with doomsday rhetoric geared to spread fear and make the average, uneducated American join their cause. At the end of the day, it’s simple fear mongering to try getting voters on their side for future elections.
However, one website that’s opposed to the AHCA is taking this junk to a whole new level by offering to send the Republican Party a person’s ashes if it causes them to die.Yikes.
According to Huffington Post, Washington, D.C., college student Zoey Salsbury has insurance today, thanks to a provision in the Affordable Care Act that allows children to stay on their parents’ health care plan up to age 26.
Apparently, she’s quite the activist. She said she watched in horror Thursday as House Republicans passed an Obamacare repeal bill called the American Health Care Act, either unaware their legislation would kill people, or simply unsympathetic enough to care.
So, Salsbury set out to make GOP politicians face the consequences of their vote, launching mailmetothegop.com, a website that pledges to send the ashes of your cremated body to a member of Congress, should you die because of the Republican health plan.
The National Funeral Directors Association says it’s illegal to ship cremated remains via any carrier other than the U.S. Postal Service, which put together a helpful guide, including a photo of what your remains might look like.“Yes, it is real,” Salsbury, a junior at American University, told HuffPost Thursday, shortly after her new website was overwhelmed by traffic and crashed.
“Many of my friends will die” if this becomes law, she said. “People will literally die, and they don’t see that that’s going to happen.”
It’s rather difficult to take the insanity of this idea and put it into words. It’s that far out there. At the core of this nonsense is the ridiculous claim that people are going to die or somehow stop receiving the care they need due to Obamacare being junked.
For example, people with preexisting conditions will not be denied coverage. That’s one of the provisions being kept from Obamacare.
Also, dependents are able to stay on a parent’s plan until age 26, and folks currently on Medicaid will be grandfathered in when the federal funds are cut for the expansion of the program in 2020.
Our very own Matt Palumbo put together a list of what’s being kept, what’s going bye-bye, and what’s being replaced. Check out it.
The bottom line is, no one is going to have their care denied them due to this legislation being passed. The folks perpetuating this myth are nuts or they are using fear mongering techniques to further their own agenda.
In this case, it seems the former is true. This poor, young snowflake is so warped by liberal talking heads she actually thinks people will drop dead by the thousands if the AHCA is made law.
Hopefully this young lady will wake up and smell the coffee before she further embarrasses herself.
