Charlie Gard’s mother sends Trump special message; liberals implode

The mother of Charlie Gard, the 11-month-old British infant who has been in a fight for his life against the European Court of Human Rights, thanked President Trump and Pope Francis for helping to keep her son alive.

Gard was soon to be the victim of what more or less amounts to a death panel who ruled toward the end of June that the boy, who is currently terminally ill, should be removed from life-support, despite his parents having raised enough money to take him to the U.S. for an experimental treatment that could save his life.

The courts denied the request to bring Charlie to America. Repeatedly.

This is what socialized medicine looks like, folks.

The Daily Caller reports, Trump and Pope Francis have both spoken out in support of the parents. Connie Yates, Gard’s mother, told BBC Monday that their words “turned it into an international issue.” Yates added that their support has been the “single biggest factor” in ensuring Gard remains on life-support.

“There are a lot of people who are outraged about what is going on,” Yates told BBC Radio 4’s Today show, according to The Guardian.

Britain’s High Court will hear the case Monday “in light of claims of new evidence” from the Vatican’s children’s hospital. Doctors at the Great Ormond Street Hospital argue further treatment is”unjustified,” but Gard’s parents believe treatment in the U.S. is worth a chance.

“There’s nothing to lose, he deserves a chance,” Yates told The Independent.

By the way, this is a prime example of how the president can use his social media platform for good.

Regardless, since Gard’s parents have the necessary funds to bring him to America, this court has no right to tell them what they can and cannot do as a means of saving his life.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what a death panel looks like, in action, and yet, this is the kind of thing many on the left want to bring to our shores.

The free market is always more merciful than socialism.
