By now you’ve heard the the GOP primary race in Indiana was not even close — and multiple networks called it for Trump just as polls closed. In the wake of what appears to be Trump’s landslide win, Sen. Ted Cruz has just told supporters in Indiana he is suspending his campaign.
@tedcruz: “With a heavy heart, but with boundless optimism for the long-term future of our nation, we are suspending our campaign.” — Fox News (@FoxNews) May 4, 2016.

As bitterly disappointing as this is to many of Sen. Cruz’s ardent supporters, his decision to suspend his campaign tonight — rather than continue the fight through the convention — gives the GOP an advantage over the Democrats. We will have the chance to begin rebuilding and healing, while the Democrats continue to battle on. From the looks of tonight’s Indiana primary, Bernie Sanders will not be dropping out tonight, and he’s pledged to continue on.
In suspending his campaign tonight, Cruz has put the party above himself. (Unlike another who shall not be named — who is still pledging to continue on, despite being fourth in what is now technically a two-man race.)I (Michelle Jesse), for one, thank Ted Cruz for standing up for many important principles for our republic and hope that he will remain in the fight with us all.
We on Col. West’s team have not endorsed any one of the GOP candidates in the primary, but I can assure you we are ardently #NeverHillary and #NeverBernie.
