I would hope the firestorm over the comments at the DNC from Khizr Khan, the father of the Muslim solider killed in Iraq, and Donald Trump’s response (which I consider an unforced error) will subside soon. But for Trump, it’s time to move forward. And here’s the perfect opportunity to change the narrative.
Previously, we reported how the Senate Democrats led by Harry Reid blocked “Kate’s Law” from passing. Kate Steinle was killed a little over a year ago in San Francisco by a criminal illegal immigrant, who roamed free because of the city’s sanctuary city policy towards illegals. The simple fact that the Democrats could not find it within themselves to support a law to protect Americans by toughening up incarceration time for criminal illegal immigrants is a pathetic shame. However, the Senate Democrats also blocked cutting off federal funding to those American municipalities who’ve decided to disregard the rule of law. And it appears we now know why Reid and company blocked that measure.
As reported by the Washington Examiner, “President Obama’s Justice Department has coughed up hundreds of millions of dollars to so-called “sanctuary cities” that refuse federal demands for criminal illegal immigrants sought for deportation, according to a new inspector general memo.
In just 10 of 155 jurisdictions reviewed, taxpayers handed over $342.1 million in Justice grants to the law-breaking cities and states that have policies barring jails and police from cooperating with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. The IG said that is 63 percent of the funds available to all American cities.

The IG said that is 63 percent of the funds available to all American cities. The memo is likely to stir up the issue of illegal immigration and sanctuary cities in the presidential campaign. Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton has voiced support for the sanctuary effort in which state and local officials in mostly urban areas choose to harbor illegals with criminal records rather than comply with ICE requests to turn them over or even identify their immigration status. Donald Trump has called for an end to the practice.”
Mr. Trump, I hope you’ll shine a blinding light on what the liberal progressives are intending to do. Here is a clear opportunity to draw a distinction between yourself and Mrs. Clinton.
It has to be shocking that hard-earned American taxpayer dollars are being provided — by the Justice Department mind you — in order to support the violation of our laws. There comes a time when we must simply ask are we a nation of laws or not? We must also ask, are we a sovereign nation or not?It is apparent when you consider this report from the DoJ IG, it demonstrates that the Obama administration, and the
“There are thousands of illegal aliens charged and convicted of crimes but still roaming U.S. streets. ICE figures show that in fiscal 2015, the agency encountered 152,393 illegal immigrants labeled a criminal threat, mostly in jails, but charged 64,116. About another 88,000 were not processed for deportation and released. Justice Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz’s memo said that “over 140 state and local jurisdictions” may be receiving Office of Justice Program and Office of Violence Against Women grants, despite a law that demands grant-recipients cooperate with ICE. The Center for Immigration Studies has posted a map of over 300 sanctuary jurisdictions.”
How ironic that there are sanctuary cities receiving federal funding from the Office of Violence Against Women grants — you have to ask, how did that help Kate Steinle? Then again, we should ask, why wasn’t the Steinle family invited onto the DNC stage? Does the Democrat Party not see Mrs. Steinle as a “mother of the movement?”It’s the ongoing hypocrisy of the left — they embrace Cindy Sheehan but they reject Pat Smith. And consider the absurd and nasty reaction by the leftist media towards Pat Smith who spoke at the RNC convention — there was a GQ reporter who wanted to “beat her to death.” So why is it that the left attacked Pat Smith, yet, the leftist media is fawning all over the Khan family?
And so the hypocrisy continues with the Democrat Party, which has no issue with supporting and funding violations of law…just as we shared with you the DNC inviting illegal immigrants onto their stage. That was the violation of U.S. statutes. Why is it that the rule of law does not apply?
Here’s the common sense analysis: “Jessica Vaughan, the CIS policy director who compiled the map, told Secrets [Washington Examiner], “It’s very concerning that the Department of Justice is allowing at least 10 jurisdictions that are clearly in violation of federal law to suck up nearly two-thirds of all the federal money available to help local law enforcement. The Justice Department should be prosecuting these jurisdictions, not writing them checks.”
The issue is that it’s the American taxpayer writing the check. Is this an acceptable standard? Can any progressive socialist explain this rationale? The DoJ IG shared his assessment, “ICE learns that an illegal criminal they want is being held. They ask the local law enforcement to detain the illegal until ICE officers can pick them up. In sanctuary cities, those requests are ignored. The IG said that some cities go further, barring officers from even asking the immigration status of those arrested, thwarting any effort to find illegals.”
There’s not much to say folks. But, there is something we must all do, and that’s end this policy by ending the control of the White House by progressive socialists. We must not allow Hillary Clinton to win, and we cannot lose the Senate majority. We cannot allow New York Senator Chuck Schumer to become the new Senate Majority Leader.
What do you think? Are you fine with $342.1 million of your money going to sanctuary cities that shield illegal immigrants — including criminals? Mr. Trump, here’s how you might want to shift the narrative.
