Are we truly getting a clear view of what is transpiring with these nuclear negotiation talks with Iran? If it hadn’t been for Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu’s address before a joint session of Congress perhaps not. If Senator Tom Cotton and 46 other GOP Senators had not written an open letter to the Iranian leadership, perhaps Secretary of State John Kerry would not have been forced to admit before a Senate Foreign Relations committee hearing that this “agreement” is non-binding. And why is it that President Obama is so emphatic about vetoing any congressionally-passed legislation that could reinstate sanctions or require that Congress be a part of approving this “deal?”
Because we’re clearly NOT getting the full picture, and the recent defection of an Iranian journalist confirms that disturbing fact.
As reported by the UK Telegraph, “A close media aide to Hassan Rouhani, the Iranian president, has sought political asylum in Switzerland after travelling to Lausanne to cover the nuclear talks between Tehran and the West. Amir Hossein Mottaghi said he no longer saw any “sense” in his profession as a journalist as he could only write what he was told. My conscience would not allow me to carry out my profession in this manner any more.”
“Motaghi is said to have been a friend of Jason Rezaian, the Iranian-American reporter for the Washington Post who has been detained in Tehran, and to have campaigned privately for his release.” Just as a reminder, Iran is in fact holding four Americans hostage and that hasn’t been an issue for the Obama administration to resolve before even embarking upon this folly.
Probably many of you are saying, so what? But here’s the kicker.
In his television interview, Mottaghi also said “The U.S. negotiating team are mainly there to speak on Iran’s behalf with other members of the 5+1 countries and convince them of a deal.”Wait, what?
We reported here that two weeks ago U.S. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper revealed a document that had dropped Iran, and their proxy Islamist army Hezbollah, from the terrorist list. And now we hear from an Iranian defector who was at the proceedings in Lausanne that our U.S. negotiating team led by our Secretary of State, John Kerry, is advocating on behalf of the Iranians?
If this is the case, then we have a greater issue than we could ever imagine — our national security is being sold down the river for a nuclear armed Iran — and for what reason? Or should I say “t/reason?”
Is this a part of the Obama administration foreign policy legacy, so they can state that they did something which previously hadn’t been achieved? Could this be Obama’s crowning jewel for which he was given the Nobel Peace Prize? Of course the irony is that Iran has never advanced the concept of peace.
The goal when it comes to the Iranian nuclear program must be its cessation — not a slow down. With that must come full disclosure of its sites for inspection — something which has not been agreed to. At no point in time should international sanctions against Iran be lifted unless there is full compliance with international demand. Iranian leadership has not changed its behavior in any way shape of form – as a matter of fact, Iran has grown even more belligerent and expansive — especially with the vacuum created by a clearly absent U.S foreign policy in the Middle East.
What are the motivations behind the Obama administration secrecy in this matter? Perhaps those emails will also be deleted and we shall never know. One thing that we do know, if this “deal” goes through and President Obama takes it to the United Nations for approval, it will mean a huge blow to the sovereignty of America and our Constitutional system of coequal branches of government. This would be a hugely dangerous rogue move that will have lasting ramifications not just for America, but for the world as a whole.
Hitler referred to the signed document between himself and Neville Chamberlain as a just piece of paper — seems that history does indeed repeat itself.
