The mainstream media monolith and its fake news proxies are waging an unprecedented war of attrition on the Trump administration and conservative Republicans. Dug deep in the liberal trenches is Joe Scarborough, the MSNBC host of “Morning Joe” who’s taken the lead in vigorously denouncing Trump’s policy platforms while also questioning the viability of the Republican Party as a legitimate player in future elections. Not surprisingly, Scarborough came out swinging Monday morning with a sharp rebuke of Trump’s attorney, Jay Sekulow, Trump’s most ardent media ally, Sean Hannity, and his longstanding (and successful) eponymous show “Hannity.”
Scarborough accused Trump attorney, Jay Sekulow of lying (more than once).
Scarborough said, “If you look at what Jay Sekulow was forced to go out and say last weekend on the Sunday shows, if you look at the statement that the President of the United States signed off on with all the president’s men around him on Air Force One, coming back from Europe, lying, lying to the New York Times lying to the American people, saying this meeting was just about adoption and then the next day lying about the people that were in it.”Then the attack on Hannity:
He continued, “Then going on a TV show that is basically a state-run television and being asked at the end of that TV show, is there anything else that we don’t know about? And Don Jr. Saying that’s it. And then and then the next day we find out another person attended the meeting.
And then the next day we find out that somebody connected with the KGB that was basically an intel officer was at the meeting. And then the next day finding out that there are two other people at the meeting. These people keep getting caught in their lies. Day after day after day, Jay and the president of the United States keeps saying nothing to see here, move along, move along. It’s like actually a character out of the Simpsons. There is something to see here, and even their own base knows that.”State-run television Joe? You say that with a straight face, when your network and the alphabet soup of mainstream television channels basically parroted Obama administration talking points for eight years?
Scarborough’s tirade is the quintessential example of calling the kettle black. The mainstream media has furthered the same liberal nonsense for decades without formidable opposition from the right. They’re fortunate to have survived unscathed for this amount of time.Hannity should be commended for his show’s longevity and respected for his incisive reporting. Scarborough should retract his statement.
Don’t hold your breath.
