It hasn’t been a good past couple of weeks for CNN.James O’Keefe began releasing a number of undercover videos in a new series called “American Pravda,” in which he’s exposing anti-Trump bias in the mainstream media. Of course, we’ve all seen the bias ourselves (in fact, a recent Harvard study found that 93 percent of the media’s Trump coverage is negative), but it’s something else to see O’Keefe’s footage showcasing CNN producers and commentators stating that they believe the Trump/Russia story is nonsense that they’ll just milking for the ratings.
Possibly the best of the bunch released thus far is episode three in which CNN tells us how they really feel about American voters (and by proxy, their audience), whom associate producer Jimmy Carr describes as “dumb as s**t.”
And now, he’s doubling down on the comments, in a recorded conversation where he discusses how much he hates Chris Cuomo, the man for whom he’s a producer.
“[We] can’t stand the guy….we’re just like shut up” he says of Cuomo. We all know how you feel Carr – but about all of CNN’s talking heads, as do most Americans, it would appear. The stats from last week following O’Keefe’s explosive revelations were devastating for CNN, with all prime-time shows bringing in under 1 million total viewers.
And as the Gateway Pundit noted, for the month of May, CNN averaged 821,000 viewers per hour throughout the entire day and 1.12 million total viewers during the prime time hours. Comparably, FOX News averaged 1.42 million viewers per hour throughout the entire day and 2.24 million viewers during prime time, or twice as many viewers during prime time hours as CNN.
By the end of June, due to CNN being caught in a number of ‘fake news’ stories, its numbers dropped significantly. On Wednesday June 28th CNN’s numbers dropped to only 666,000 TV viewers throughout the day and only 882,000 viewers during primetime. These pathetic numbers were roughly 80 percent of May’s monthly average for total day TV viewers and prime time viewers or 20 percent down. FOX News on the other hand, had TV viewership that was up from May with 1.705 million total viewers daily per hour average and 2.647 viewers during prime time for an increase of roughly 20%.
CNN’s nonstop Trump/Russia coverage has been a ratings goldmine for them, but it’s now the main contributor to their decline.
Unfortunately for them, O’Keefe isn’t even close to being finished yet.
