After admitting to ‘massive f*** up’ CNN forced to make HUGE changes…

If the election of Donald Trump made anything clear, it’s that CNN was exposed as a fake news outlet. Although they’d been slowly showing more bias for years, their coverage of Trump was what made their fall official. CNN’s vendetta against Trump has been so blatant, they’ve basically abandoned all journalistic standards since the election.

Of course, it’s not just Trump supporters who’ve have noticed how bad CNN’s coverage has been. In fact, a recent study found that 93 percent of CNN’s coverage of Trump has been negative. Worse yet, the network doesn’t seem to care how obvious their agenda is. Despite the evidence against them, CNN continues to hammer away at the president.

That’s why it came as no surprise when CNN ran another negative story about Trump, again depending on anonymous sources to back up their claims. Surprisingly though, this time the story was so bad, CNN was forced to retract it and apologize. Even worse, the gaffe was so embarrassing for the network that they are making huge changes to their Russia coverage.

From Bizpac Review:

Journalistic standards at CNN? Who knew?!

According to an internal email uncovered by BuzzFeed, after a major gaffe which led to the retraction of a Friday story, CNN is now establishing publishing restrictions on all online articles about Russia.

The email, sent by CNNMoney executive editor Rich Barbieri on Saturday, says that “No one should publish any content involving Russia without coming to me and Jason.” (“Jason” is a CNN vice-president, according to Buzzfeed.)

The memo applies to “social, video, editorial, and MoneyStream. No exceptions.”

The new standards will apply to the entire network:

BuzzFeed reported that the restrictions aren’t just applicable to CNNMoney, but across the network. According to BuzzFeed’s source, CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker and the head of the network’s human resources department are both “directly involved” in investigating the story’s handling.

The anonymous source also told BuzzFeed that the story was a “massive, massive f**k up and people will be disciplined.” .

The retracted story cited an unnamed source claiming that the Senate Intelligence Committee was investigating a “$10-billion Russian investment fund whose chief executive met with a member of President Donald Trump’s transition team four days before Trump’s inauguration.”

Despite having no evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, CNN has relentlessly pursued the controversy. To achieve that goal, the network has been willing to report anything and everything that helps the narrative, journalistic standards be damned. This time, they took things too far.

Sadly for CNN, the move is too little too late. Such a major change is a desperate attempt to regain credibility, but most of us know they lost that months ago.
