Comedian — a term used loosely here — Kathy Griffin posted a rather disgusting and disturbing photo of herself on Twitter yesterday, holding a mock severed head of President Donald Trump, a move that earned her a whole lot of backlash from folks all across the political spectrum.Just imagine what would’ve happened if someone like Clint Eastwood or James Woods had posted an image like this of former President Barack Obama. Riots, looting, and hours of outrage on CNN.
Well, Griffin attempted to apologize, but here’s how both President Trump and First Lady Melania have responded to the mess, and they couldn’t be more right.According to The Washington Post, The comedian and reality TV star apologized Tuesday night for a shocking picture in which she was seen holding a prop of Trump’s bloody, severed head.
In a video posted on social media, Griffin said she crossed the line and that the image was too disturbing.
“I sincerely apologize. I am just now seeing the reaction of these images,” she said of the picture.Multiple members of the Trump family have spoken out. The president, returning from his “covfefe” break Wednesday morning, attacked Griffin over the widely denounced image, which Trump called “sick!”
Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!

Melania Trump said in a statement that, “As a mother, a wife, and a human being, that photo is very disturbing. When you consider some of the atrocities happening in the world today, a photo opportunity like this is simply wrong and makes you wonder about the mental health of the person who did it.”
Griffin, a veteran stand-up comedian and actress who has won two Emmys for her reality show “My Life on the D List,” had shared the image in a now-deleted tweet.
“I caption this ‘there was blood coming out of his eyes, blood coming out of his … wherever,’” she wrote Tuesday. In a second tweet, she added: “OBVIOUSLY, I do not condone ANY violence by my fans or others to anyone, ever! I’m merely mocking the Mocker in Chief.”
Griffin even caught heat from both Chelsea Clinton and CNN’s Anderson Cooper who she often works with on New Year’s Eve specials. These are people who never typically speak out in defense of Trump for anything, which tells you just how offensive this junk truly is.
One can only hope CNN will cut ties with Griffin and the not-so-funny comedian will learn her lesson and grow a little decency.
