After a brief hiatus from the hysteria, a recent tragedy in Portland has allowed liberals in the media to point to the supposed rise in “right-wing” or “white” terrorism in the age of Donald Trump. On Saturday, suspect Jeremy Joseph Christian, 35, began shouting what “would best be characterized as hate speech toward a variety of ethnicities and religions” on a MAX train, according to the police. Among the victims of his verbal abuse were two women, one of which was wearing a hijab. A number of men intervened to deescalate the situation – but that’s when Christian went even more erratic, attacking them with a knife. Two men were tragically killed, while another was badly wounded and hospitalized.
Here's a post from the mother of one of the heroes who died defending two Muslim girls yesterday in Portland. Let's make him famous.
The second victim of the Portland terrorist attack is Ricky Best, a City of Portland employee and 23-year-Army veteran….
The third victim of the Portland terrorist attack is 21-year-old Micah David-Cole Fletcher. He is in the hospital and is…
Anyone wishing to donate to the families of the victims can do so on GoFundMe here.I wish this story could be about just those three heroes, but some politicizing of the incident demands clarification. In the posts above memorializing the victims, McLellan (who happens to be an acquaintance of mine) refers to the killer as a white supremacist, which certainly appears to be the case. However, there are a number of people using that to tie this hate crime to Donald Trump, which is where things get a bit ridiculous.
Kansas, NYC, Maryland, Portland all this year; all white supremacist/anti-immigrant murders; darkness is migrating from online to real world

You won't hear a peep from Trump or the WH about this appalling crime. https://t.co/896ZZaYgDY

@Franklin_Graham No miracle could help the men in Portland who died defending women from a racist white supremacist fueled by You and Trump in his hate.

The murderer, in Portland, Or. is a neo-nazi/white supremacist – now a common occurrence in US since Trump cabal moved in. Not surprising.

Was he a racist? Yes – anyone who looked through Christian’s Facebook quotes will find countless racist and antisemitic posts (in addition to no shortage of anti-police posts). But will they find support for Donald Trump? Hell no.
Here are a collection of his Facebook posts in which he criticizes Trump, or declares support for Bernie Sanders.
A number of people have been pointing to a center-right free speech rally that Christian appeared in last month, but he was prevented from entering due to the racist views he was expressing.
Trump supporters kicked this guy out of a rally.
Those who throw Nazi salutes need to do some soul searching.https://t.co/AIFxqsmv1a

Yes – he was a racist lunatic, but no, he wasn’t driven to action because he was inspired by Donald Trump. It’s depressing to think that there are a handful of liberals who will be disappointed to learn that’s the case.
