Have ‘The Simpsons’ finally gone too far with latest Trump diss?

Liberal Hollywood loves lampooning President Trump and anyone associated with his administration, because, you know, cheap laughs and ratings.

While many celebrities and TV shows have taken potshots at the real-estate-mogul-turned-president, you haven’t really made it until either South Park or The Simpsons lambastes you.

It looks like the president can now scratch one of those shows off the list.

A new episode of The Simpsons slams the Trump administration in a rather classless way by showing Press Secretary Sean Spicer committing suicide, and the president’s daughter, Ivanka, shilling her wares on the Supreme Court.

Keeping it classy as always, right?

According to Breitbart:

Fox’s animated comedy The Simpsons offered up a decidedly dark view of President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office with a short clip released online this week, the latest in a series of clips from the long-running show that have taken aim at Trump.

The latest video, released Wednesday, sees White House press secretary Sean Spicer having apparently committed suicide in the briefing room, while Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway vows not to replace him.

As Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon wring each other’s necks, President Trump — whose hair is actually a live cat — lies in bed, surrounded by books including “Florida on $10 Million a Day” and “Killing a Good Thing,” by Bill O’Reilly.

“One hundred days in office. So many accomplishments. Lowered my golf handicap. My Twitter feed increased by 700. And finally, we can shoot hibernating bears. My boys will love that,” Trump says in the clip.

When he’s presented with an urgent bill that lowers taxes “only for Republicans,” Trump asks whether Fox News can read the bill and he’ll just watch what they say.

Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump has taken Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the Supreme Court, and her robe with gavel earrings can be had for just 1,000 rubles.

The scene continues with Homer and Marge watching the whole debacle play out on TV, with the blue-haired Mrs. Simpson reaching into her massive beehive to retrieve a bottle of antidepressants, that were, according to her, supposed to last the whole tenure of Trump’s time in office.

The Simpsons have always been controversial, edgy, and a bit heavy on social commentary, but this is too much — even for them.

The whole scene reeks of desperation, as it’s clear the writers are trying to cling to relevancy with all their might by jumping aboard the “bash Trump” train and hashtag activism that’s so prevalent in our culture.

Judging an entire presidency based on 100 days is a bit premature, but hey, anything to keep the ratings up and the lights on in the studio, right?

Despite Michelle Obama’s “when they go low, we go high” rhetoric, when has Hollywood ever taken the high road?
