There’s no shortage of nutty left-wing celebrities in the entertainment industry, and comedian Chelsea Handler’s is a textbook example.

However, she does have knack for being unintentionally hilarious when she tries to wade into politics.

Handler is currently supporting Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff who is running for Congress, but he might not really want her support after all.

Apparently the Netflix show host got on Twitter and ended up sending folks to the polls to vote on the wrong day.

According to TheBlaze, Liberal comedian Chelsea Handler has really put herself out there to support Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff, but she’s apparently not even sure when his election is.

Handler has donated a few thousand dollars to Ossoff, who is running in a special election to represent Georgia’s 6th Congressional District, replacing Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price in the House of Representatives.

But the comedian got a little bit ahead of herself earlier this week, asking her nearly 7 million Twitter followers to head to the polls Tuesday when the election isn’t taking place until next week, on April 18.

As it turns out, Handler, who in 2016 told NBC’s Matt Lauer that she associates racism with “really like dumb … people from the South,” isn’t the only Hollywood name backing Ossoff’s campaign. In fact, 95 percent of the donations to the Democrat’s campaign have come from sources outside Georgia.

Ossoff has received support from big names such as George Takei, Sam Waterston, Debra Messing, Rosie O’Donnell, and Kristen Bell. Actors Alyssa Milano and Christopher Gorham, who were in Georgia for a film project, even offered to drive early voters to the polls to cast their ballots for Ossoff in late March.

The fact all of these “entertainers” supporting Ossoff pretty much tells you all you need to know about the man, doesn’t it?

As we wrote here, thirty-year-old Ossoff, an investigative filmmaker and former congressional aide has had some problems with “truthiness” in the past.

Par for the course.
