It has happened in Germany, France, London, and even right here in America at Ohio State University. Just yesterday we shared a story about it happening in Israel. And so we open up our news feeds and see it has happened again in Sweden. Funny thing, this past Tuesday evening I spoke at the University of Georgia and addressed how we are all on the modern 21st Century battlefield. And to my astonishment, a young Muslim male student during the Q&A session challenged me to not talk about Islamic terrorist attacks. It seems he felt that I wasn’t being nice…the heck with nice.As you know by now, a terrorist slammed a hijacked beer truck into a department store in Sweden, killing at least four people and wounding at least 15, nine of them seriously. Hours later, two men had been taken in for questioning, but it’s unknown whether they were suspects“. According to Fox News, Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said “Sweden has been attacked. Everything points to the fact that this is a terrorist attack.” There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Friday’s attack [ISIS has claimed responsibility], but vehicles have been common weapons in recent extremist attacks.
The problem is we need leaders who refuse to offer any platform to individuals such as the young student who wanted me to sing Kumbaya. We also need to see groups such as the Council for Islamic Relations (CAIR) for who they are: jihadist enablers. They may not carry out the attacks, but their tactics and antics, designed to silence voices, are ultimately just as dangerous as the folks driving vehicles into innocent civilians. Sadly, we live in this fantasy world of “Coexist” bumper stickers. I’m just waiting for the day when a vehicle with one of those bumper stickers is used by an Islamic jihadist to run folks over — truly oxymoronic un-poetic justice to those Islamapologists who have their heads stuck up their fourth point of contact (an Airborne term, if you were wondering).Y’all remember when President Donald Trump was severely criticized and assailed over his comments regarding Sweden? The leftist media went bonkers, I mean schizophrenic apoplectic and again tried to prove President Trump as some Islamophobe. Here’s an example from that moment: “Donald Trump has waded back into the controversy over his comments on Sweden, claiming that its policy of accepting large numbers of migrants was not working. Mr Trump sparked outcry and confusion over the weekend when he held at rally in Melbourne, Florida, and spoke darkly of things that had allegedly happened “last night” in Sweden.
As people from Stockholm to Linkoping scratched their heads as to what he was referring to, the US President then admitted he was talking about a widely debunked Fox News report he had seen on television the night before. On Monday, Mr Trump tweeted: “Give the public a break – The FAKE NEWS media is trying to say that large scale immigration in Sweden is working out just beautifully. NOT!”
Mr Trump said he had received his information from a segment on a Fox News broadcast on Friday night by Tucker Carlson. Mr Carlson interviewed Ami Horowitz, producer of a film that claimed to document alleged violence committed by refugees in Sweden. News of Mr Horowitz’s documentary made headlines last year when he told conservative outlets such as Breitbart News that there were Muslim “no-go zones” in Europe. “Over the last two years, they’ve taken in over 350,000 Syrian refugees,” he said. “The reason why I went there was to investigate why Sweden has become the rape capital of Europe. Rape was not unknown, but relatively minor. There were few incidents of rape, let’s say about 10 years ago. And rape has absolutely skyrocketed in Europe.” Henrik Selin, political scientist and deputy director of the Swedish Institute, a state agency dedicated to promoting Sweden globally, told the newspaper he had completed a study focusing on negative news reports about Sweden’s intake of refugees. He said there were many exaggerations and distortions, including reports falsely claiming that Sharia law was predominant in parts of the country.”Perhaps Mr. Selin can explain to the victims of this terrorist attack why? We continue to have those voices that prefer denial and dismissal rather than taking action. We continue to have those voices focused on some misguided benevolence instead of being laser focused on the safety and security of their citizens. It’s not just the victims of the attack today, or any other day, it’s about the residual emotional scars. And it’s about the lingering atmosphere of fear, a populace that is terrorized.
I just cannot fathom why, with all the incessant Islamic terrorist attacks, any recognition of such is condemned with denigrating, demeaning, and disparaging personal attacks and attempts at character assassination. Why is it that we have a contingent of individuals who get more angered by those who take the Islamic jihadist/terrorist/fascist enemy for their word…than with the jihadists themselves? Doggone, anybody here think I will EVER be on the cover of the Rolling Stone magazine? Probably not, but that little jackass Dzohkar Tsarnaev was, in some kind of glamour shot.
Nah, I ain’t gonna sing Kumbaya. I will continue to articulate the fact-based nature, history and objectives of this enemy. I am not going to sugar coat it just to make someone feel good. Life ain’t about having a binky, puppy, and hot cocoa. It’s time we stop digging a hole and sticking our head in it, resulting in our citizens being terrorized. It’s apparent that vehicular homicide is a tactic embraced by Islamic jihadists, just like computer bombs used to be. You know, I remember being a little kid and Dad driving me to the airport just to sit at a gate and watch folks board planes and then take off. How many of you remember the days when you could walk to the gate with your relatives and see them off at the airport? Nowadays you barely get three minutes to dump your loved ones off at the curb, and think about the long lines of security checks, and having to take off your shoes, gulp down your water, and carry those teeny tiny toiletry plastic pouches.
I’m just saying, that didn’t happen because of Southern Baptists. And you know the real humor? Some folks get more angry at Christians who prefer not to bake a cake for a particular ceremonial event due to their faith beliefs. Yet, we can’t come together and demonize the savage barbarians who are using cars to run over people, throw gays off buildings, behead, crucify, and rape little girls.
Now, that is an example of FUBAR…and if this missive upsets you and causes you to be angry with me, you just made my point. May God bless another group of innocent people, the Swedes, who can be added to the ever-growing list of victims of Islamic jihadism.
