Whoa: Women’s NCAA champ takes FIRM STAND on White House invite…

Ever since Donald Trump was elected president and sworn into office, there’s been controversy among professional athletes about whether or not they should accept invitations to the White House to visit with the commander in chief.

Strangely, no such controversy existed when Barack Obama was in office, despite all of the shady activity, violations of the separation of powers, and so on.

Anyway, while many have opted not to accept such an invitation, fearing the backlash that would ensue from the crybabies in our modern culture, the South Carolina women’s basketball team is taking an unpopular stand.

They, as freshly minted champions, would accept the invitation.

According to SEC Country, …according to AP reporter Doug Feinberg, Dawn Staley made it loud and clear: if invited, the Gamecocks are not missing out on the opportunity.

Staley isn’t going to let politics get in the way of the championship tradition, especially for the program’s inaugural title team.

“I’ve got options now. Yeah, I’m going to the White House,” Staley told The Associated Press. “It’s what it stands for. It’s what national champions do. We’ll go to the White House.”

South Carolina standout A’ja Wilson added that the experience is one that she’d never forget.

“I’ve never really been to the White House. It should be exciting to go with this group of girls,” Wilson said. “We’re going to have fun, so I’m excited. Honestly, I’m just going to go and enjoy the moment, just take it all in. This is probably a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so why not enjoy it?”

This is a woman who has her head on straight. How refreshing is it to hear someone not turning everything into a political statement and just enjoying life a little?

Not everything has to be politicized, though the left absolutely seems obsessed with doing just that. So much so that it’s no wonder they seem to be in a constant state of crankiness.

Let’s hope other athletes follow suit and stop allowing politics to further divide a nation that’s already torn and tattered.
