It’s a surprise that the Vatican hasn’t excommunicated Nancy Pelosi yet. Back in 2013, Cardinal Raymond Burke, the head of the highest court at the Vatican called for her to be denied Communion under the law of the Catholic Church, citing Canon 915 that “Catholics who obstinately persevere in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.”Lucky for her, “armchair theologian” Pelosi still gets to receive communion today. But, despite the disdain for her from the Catholic community, she finds it appropriate to “speak for God” when it comes to Trump’s agenda.
According to the Washington Free Beacon:House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi expressed moral outrage on Thursday towards President Donald Trump’s recent executive order on energy, describing it as “really sinful” and “degrading of God’s creation.”
“Shocking, almost sinful, really sinful to be so degrading of God’s creation,” Pelosi said during her weekly press conference.“The administration’s attack on science and the Clean Power Plan will not bring back jobs to the coal country,” Pelosi continued. “It will only poison our air and undermine America’s ability to win good-paying, clean jobs of the future.”
Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday that calls for reviewing and rolling back environmental regulations installed during former President Barack Obama’s time in office. The order undid many of the Obama administration’s climate change rules and was meant in part to revive America’s coal industry, which has sharply declined in recent years.
Yes, because the world was just on the verge of going up in flames before Obama signed off a few executive orders that accelerated the decline of the coal industry.
Heck, the decline has been so severe that there’s not even any guarantee that Trump’s repeal of Obama’s regulations will be enough to save it (thanks, in part, to alternate forms of energy), but at least we got to hear Pelosi’s well-respected theological opinion on the matter.
