With the utter failure of Democratic Party policies over the last eight years, it’s not hard to see why liberals are losing support, both politically and culturally. The election of Donald Trump as U.S. president is a clear indictment of the previous administration and the ideology it espoused, indicating it was time for a change in the status quo.
However, while we’ve obviously seen leftists ranks thinning, a new poll and report has Democrats hemorrhaging from the most unlikely spot in America:California.
According to The Daily Caller:California Sens. Kamala Harris and Dianne Feinstein’s approval ratings are down in their home state, according to a recent poll published Thursday by Politico.
Only 46 percent of Californians approve of the job that Harris is doing, and 23 percent disapprove. Most surprising, is that 30 percent of respondents didn’t know Harris was their junior senator, including 20 percent of Democrats in the state.
Feinstein’s approval rating fell 7 percentage points to 49 percent, and 32 percent disapprove of the job she’s done in Washington, D.C.Harris graced the short-list of most likely 2020 Democratic candidates for president. In the wake of President Donald Trump’s unexpected win in November, Harris made waves opposing Trump’s immigration ban and trolling the administration through her official Twitter account.
Does this mean there’s hope for folks stuck in the land of fruits and nuts to one day wake up and find themselves in a conservative wonderland?
Probably not any time soon.
However, it is quite telling that Californians aren’t as stuck on their liberal “stars” as one might believe.Conservatives need to take advantage of such numbers and work hard to present our values, principles, and ideas in a way that’s open for discussion and debate in order to win hearts and minds to our cause.
There’s no reason we can’t shift the culture to the right if we use this opportunity to spread our belief system to the masses, starting in California.
The timing couldn’t be better, given the financial mess the state is in, the sad state of their failing schools, and the unmitigated disaster illegal immigration has wrought on the state.
