JUST IN: Trump makes BIG prediction at CPAC –is he right?

Greetings from CPAC. As we mentioned yesterday, part of the allenbwest.com team is here this year, and witnessing first hand how the media spins what we’re seeing before our very eyes.

The Potomac Ballroom was packed to the gills today in anticipation of President Trump’s speech.

A soon as he appeared on stage, the audience was on its feet and would have remained that way for his entire presentation had the president not said “Sit down everybody.” He said the “dishonest media” will say he never got a standing ovation because they stood up and never sat down.

Trump predicted the headline: “Donald Trump did not get a standing ovation” —they leave out the part they never sat down.”

Trump also made a point of calling out the media for parsing his comments about the news being the “enemy of the people.” He says the press always deletes the word “fake” when quoting him.

“The FAKE news is the enemy of the people. I’m not against the media, I’m not against the press, I’m not against bad stories if I deserve them. I’m against the people that make up stories and make up sources. Let them say it to my face.”

The Hill was quick to jump on Trump’s claim that people were lined up six blocks to get into his speech at CPAC – which was actually not true at the moment he said it. There were significant lines to go through security throughout the morning, and the Potomac Ballroom was filled to capacity, but there were not lines out of the door of the Gaylord Hotel where the conference was being held.

Still, The Hill repeated the trope that Trump said the press was the “enemy of the people” once again conveniently leaving out the word “fake” which he’d only reiterated moments before: He doubled down on calling the media “the enemy of the people,” to cheers from the crowd.

Oh brother. It’s just not going to end, is it.
