Waitress serves three white Trump supporters; what happens next NO ONE expected

By now you’re well aware of the narrative. Donald Trump supporters are overwhelmingly racist, bigot, xenophobe, homophobe, everything-else-phobe uneducated dolts. They particularly hate women and are violent alt-right psychos itching to pull their triggers.

Yep, yep. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.

That image will be promulgated throughout the mainstream media ad nauseam for the next four (eight?) years – which is why this story, which first appeared in the Washington Post of all places, is so surprising.

Rosalynd Harris is a waitress at Busboys and Poets, a Washington restaurant with a distinct social justice mission. At midmorning, she greeted a table of three white men in her section.

They chatted warmly. They told her they were from West Texas. One was a dentist and complimented her on her smile. They were jovial and fun.

But then she found out they were …dun dun dun… Trump supporters. But it was what they did next that completely floored her.

When the men finished their meals they left Harris, a 25-year-old African American woman, a personal message on the receipt that noted their differences. They also left her a $450 tip on their $72.60 bill — nearly a 625 percent tip.

“We may come from different cultures and may disagree on certain issues, but if everyone would share their smile and kindness like your beautiful smile, our country will come together as one people,” the note reads. “Not race. Not gender. Just American.” Then he added, “God Bless!”

The men were gone before Harris saw the receipt. She saw the words before she saw the tip, and the words alone were enough to overwhelm her.

“You automatically assume if someone supports Trump that they have ideas about you,” she said, “but [the customer is] more embracing than even some of my more liberal friends, and there was a real authenticity in our exchange.”

WHAAAT? Trump supporters are more embracing than some of her more liberal friends? Shut the front door!

Here’s the note:

Their words were a reminder not to make assumptions. And that so many Americans want unity, regardless of their politics, and to not be afraid to connect with someone as human beings, she said.

“This definitely reshaped my perspective. Republican, Democrat, liberal are all subcategories to what we are experiencing,” she said. “It instills a lot of hope.”

You mean like “hope and change” hope or “make America great again” hope? What a shocker!!! Maybe the headline for this story should have been: BREAKING: Liberal admits it’s wrong to make assumptions.”

We sure hope she spreads that word!
