Shock poll reveals liberals’ TRUE intentions for America

It’s no secret President Donald Trump is universally disliked by liberals across the country. The reaction to Trump’s election victory was nothing short of astounding. From protests that turned into riots, to efforts to deny Trump from taking office, liberals clearly showed they’re the ones unable to accept the results of a fair election.

Whether or not we agree on the most effective ways to solve problems our country faces, liberals generally want what they think will be best for America. Although their methods were at times petty, they are passionate about their country. Ultimately, that’s a good thing.

Sadly, the same can’t be said of everyone who opposes President Trump. When it comes to the most liberal state in the country, California, a large portion of voters there actually want to abandon the United States. Why? Because they didn’t get their way in an election.

From Reuters:

One in every three California residents supports the most populous U.S. state’s peaceful withdrawal from the union, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll, many of them Democrats strongly opposed to Trump’s ascension to the country’s highest office.

The 32 percent support rate is sharply higher than the last time the poll asked Californians about secession, in 2014, when one-in-five or 20 percent favored it around the time Scotland held its independence referendum and voted to remain in the United Kingdom.

California also far surpasses the national average favoring secession, which stood at 22 percent, down from 24 percent in 2014.

Of course, California residents favoring this approach may be a little short-sighted. As a state in the most powerful country on earth, California’s economy enjoys access to the richest and most robust market in the world, and its people enjoy the protection of the world’s greatest military. Moreover, California experiences severe droughts, and the pressure on their water system without access to the resources of other states would be a major problem for residents there.

Of course, once liberal Californians build their socialist utopia and their economy inevitably collapses, refugees may start fleeing across the border into the United States. Perhaps President Trump would have to build a wall on the California border.

That isn’t the only irony that plagues those in favor of an independent California: just look at the details about one of the leaders of the secession movement:

Trump’s election gave a huge boost to the quixotic campaign to remove California from the United States called Yes California, run by a former conservative turned progressive who now lives in Russia.

One wonders when Californians will start to complain about Russian interference in their politics. Or is that only a problem when it doesn’t benefit liberals?

Joking aside, the logistics of California seceding from the Union are too complex for the cause to ever come to fruition. There’s no guarantee the United States would even allow it — just ask the South. Perhaps liberal Californians should focus on working with Americans to fix the country, not threaten to leave it. Not that many of us would miss them if they did.
