If you think political correctness in America is bad, look to Sweden and you’ll realize you ain’t seen nothing yet. When it comes to Islamophilia, it’s the only nation where you’ll see a church remove all crosses and install a prayer space for Muslims. It’s also the only nation where you’ll see politicians excuse their rape epidemic (caused disproportionately by Muslim migrants) by stating that rape by Muslims isn’t as bad as rape by Swedes.
Sweden is ahead of the curve too when it comes to the recent madness of modern gender ideology, with a number of “gender neutral” schools available in their country to “free children from the social expectations based on their sex” by refusing to use gendered terms like “he” and “she.”
The problem with liberal tolerance is that it often extends to tolerating intolerance, and in Sweden that’s on full display.
As The Local reported: A Swedish prosecutor has ruled that the ISIS flag does not constitute hate speech and is therefore legal under Swedish law. Prosecutor Gisela Sjövall announced last week that she would not prosecute a 23-year-old man who had posted the black ISIS flag on his Facebook page in June. Police in Laholm, a town on Sweden’s west coast, had launched a criminal investigation into the man, who comes originally from Syria, on suspicion of committing “hate speech”.“Put simply, one can say that he is expressing contempt for “all others”, and not against a specific ethnic group,” Sjövall told Sweden’s SVT broadcaster. She said that while the swastika had now come to symbolise a hatred for Jews, the same could not yet be said of the IS flag.
“Up until now, we haven’t come to that point,” she told the local Hallandsposten newspaper. “That could change in ten years.” According to Sweden’s hate speech laws, for an image or statement to represent “incitement to hatred”, it needs to threaten or disparage a group of persons in connection to race, colour, national or ethnic origin, religious belief or sexual orientation.
Meanwhile, Guess which flag CAN be banned in Sweden? The Swedish flag… because of course it is. Why? Racism, or something.According to one Swedish website, a masquerade, where a student painted his face in the Swedish flag colors and even used a toy gun, has provoked reactions from the school board on Söndrumsskolan (Söndrum School). Principals Hans Åkerlund and Maria Rüter has now informed about the new rules for school activities.
The rules communicated from the two principals states that the Swedish flag is banned for use with the exception of public ‘flag days’ in the calendar, such as the Swedish National Day, and in the event of international exchange with foreign students. Any other use of the Swedish flag is prohibited. When ‘Nyheter Idag’ spoke to principal Hans Åkerlund he explains the idea behind the new rules. He claims that using the flag in a wrong manner could offend students. However, when asked, principal Åkerman says it have not been any previous problems at the school where anyone felt offended by the Swedish flag, nor did the student have any bad intentions with his Swedish flag face painting.
As bad as things may have gotten in America – at least we’re not Sweden. Yet.
