One of the important aspects of being a Constitutional Republic is national sovereignty. Protection of your sovereignty means securing your borders. Now, according to one Senator Harry Reid, our borders are as secure as they’ve ever been — perhaps that fall off the treadmill did more damage than we know. Then again, he also knew Mitt Romney never paid his taxes. But I digress…It appears the real truth about our border security is not in line with Sen. Reid’s assessment. By a very long shot.
As reported by CNS News, “United States Border Patrol apprehension of “family units” on the U.S.-Mexico border was up 97 percent in the first eleven months of fiscal 2016 (October 2015 through August 2016) compared to the same period in fiscal 2015.
Border Patrol apprehensions of unaccompanied alien children was 52 percent higher in the first eleven months of fiscal 2016 compared to fiscal 2015. In the first eleven months of fiscal year 2016, there were 68,080 family units apprehended at the southwest border–up from 34,565 for the same period in fiscal year 2015.
A family unit “represents the number of individuals (either a child under 18 years of age, parent or legal guardian) apprehended with a family member by the U.S. Border Patrol.” The exact number of people in each “family unit” is not provided in the Border Patrol statistics. The 68,080 is 1,936 more than the same period in fiscal year 2014 (Oct. 1 to Sept. 30) when 66,144 family units were apprehended at the Southwest border by the Border Patrol. The number of unaccompanied alien children – those apprehended without a relative or guardian – also increased in the first eleven months of fiscal 2016. In those eleven months, 54,052 children were apprehended–up 52% from the 35,485 apprehended during the same time period in fiscal year 2015.”
Now, what I find rather disconcerting — ok, alarming — is that the U.S. Border Patrol cannot report the exact number of people in each “family unit.” I wholeheartedly admit that I don’t believe this is a failure of the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol, but rather has more to do with the politics involved within the Obama administration.
Now, ask yourself, if this administration can’t track the number of people constituting a “family unit” illegally entering our Republic, how can they be trusted to properly “vet” hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees? And let’s be honest about something, that whole Somali refugee resettlement program hasn’t exactly turned out golden. What this statement from the USBP tells me is that someone doesn’t want the American citizenry to know how many people are illegally entering our country, and that is unacceptable.
And we need to ask, why are we seeing this spike in “family units” illegally crossing into the United States? As well, why is it that we have such a growth in the illegal entry of unaccompanied children? The logical deduction is that there’s a major exodus from Mexico and other nations south of our border before the border could be properly secured – as many believe it will be.One must ask, are the Mexican authorities turning a blind eye to the transit of these illegal aliens? All you need do is look at Mexico’s southern border to realize they have a different perspective on border security.
Now ask yourself, with all of these illegal family units and a Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton who want hundreds of thousands of Syrian family units…what happens for the everyday American taxpayer?
Yes, you remember, us folks, the plain ol’ hard working Joes and Janes who are watching a demographic shift towards the expansion of a welfare nanny-state and dependency society.
And of course, the progressive socialist left will use their tired old emotional plea because they really don’t care about hard working American citizens. That demographic is seeing jobs being shipped away, all for the cause of globalization. That demographic is struggling to make ends meet while they hear about trickle-down economic failure…while some advocate trickle-up poverty. That demographic is fighting for the future of their families, while being told illegal families are more important and that they have the same “right.” That demographic which is being castigated as racist, xenophobic, and “deplorable” all because they stand up for American rule of law — which they abide — while others have a different standard. That demographic which will be called upon to pay more, a fair share, because there are those who want to expand dependency, all for political, electoral patronage and gain.
It’s simple: if we are a Constitutional Republic, we have sovereignty and borders to secure. General George Washington alluded to this, “We are either a United people, or we are not. If the former, let us, in all maters of general concern act as a nation, which have national objects to promote, and a national character to support. If we are not, let us no longer act a farce by pretending to it.”
And there’s an even more serious concern. What health issues are we exposing our own children to? I give you an example — due to my service aboard in areas such as Iraq and Afghanistan, I can never again donate blood. One of the main concerns in Afghanistan was exposure to tuberculosis. And it appears we could be experiencing a threat of similar disease here. What concerns should we have for exposure to our children to health issues that have been eradicated in America? Then there’s the effect this will have on our education systems. Are we truly able to be inundated with masses of children from other nations illegally, or by way of refugee resettlement?
I know the left wants to demonize Donald Trump every chance it can, but there is a serious issue in America. Everyday citizens are feeling the pain here, especially those residing along our southern border and those living in sanctuary cities. The liberal progressive elitist response is just to denigrate, disparage and demean.
I hate to tell y’all, but it ain’t working this time. Folks are no longer willing to just allow themselves to be steamrolled by the progressive political, media and entertainment elites.
The elites embrace Colin Kaepernick because they don’t believe we have national objects to promote. But there is a great and no longer silent majority that believes we have a national character to support — and we won’t be shaken.
