GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump today spoke to a large group of New Yorkers at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, where he made some big promises to low-income Americans that will no doubt make liberals bristle.During his speech, Trump stated he would eliminate taxes for low income individuals and unveiled a plan to boost the U.S. economy.
According to TheBlaze, Speaking to a room full of New Yorkers at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump promised to eliminate taxes for low-income Americans while growing the U.S. economy.
“Low-income Americans will pay no income tax at all,” Trump told those gathered at the Economic Club of New York’s Thursday luncheon. “In fact, our plan will remove millions and millions of workers form the income tax rolls entirely.”
“By lowering rates, streamlining deductions and simplifying the process, we will add millions of new jobs,” Trump promised. In fact, 25 million jobs is what Trump promised.
“Over the next 10 years, our economic team estimates that under our plan the economy will average 3.5 percent growth and create a total of 25 million new jobs,” Trump said. “You can visit our website. Just look at the math, it works.”
Using Flint, Michigan, as an example, Trump argued that his economics plan will “embrace the truth that people flourish under a minimum government burden.”“It used to be cars were made in Flint, and you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico. Now cars are made in Mexico, and you can’t drink the water in Flint,” Trump quipped.
Trump’s promise and plan for economic growth has had mixed responses among folks on both sides of the political spectrum, with some saying it doesn’t go far enough and ought to eliminate income tax altogether, while others feel it doesn’t really change anything at all. It’s a known fact that a large portion of low-income folks don’t actually pay taxes, and some of them even get a large return, meaning the government actually pays them!
That being said, it’s easy to see why some say it doesn’t go far enough. However, even though it isn’t a perfect plan, it far and away beats what Hillary wants to do.
The truth of the matter is, the government shouldn’t be taking any money out of the pockets of hard-working Americans.
The Sixteenth Amendment, had it been written at the time of our founders, would have made the blood of the common citizen boil in his veins. It would never have been accepted.
While it would be awesome to see a flat or fair tax system replace the travesty we currently have, it’s a move that’s going to take time to initiate, but something also must be done in the meantime to alleviate the suffering of working class Americans.
That certainly won’t happen with a Clinton administration.
As Trump summed up so well in his speech today, “The only thing Hillary Clinton can offer is a welfare check; I will produce paychecks.”
