Racism is alive and well in Milwaukee, but not the kind that fits the media narrative.Riots broke out Saturday and have continued since then, following the shooting death of Sylville Smith, an armed black suspect who was killed by a black police officer. Undoubtedly, the rioters wouldn’t be destroying their own communities had Smith drawn his weapon first.
For some incomprehensible reason, rioters found a new target: white people. Prior to the riots breaking out, video captured a crowd of Black Lives Matter protestors screaming at police officers. One of the rioters can be heard saying to the officers, “We do not want justice or peace anymore. We done with that shit. We want blood. We want blood. We want the same s–t ya’ll want. Eye for an eye. No more peace. F–k all that. Ain’t no more peace. Ain’t no more peace. We done. We cannot co-habitate with white people, one of us have to go, black or white. All ya’ll have to go!” His comments hardly reflect a minority opinion among the rioters.
To recap just day one of the riots, rioters chanted “black power” as a white-owned gas station was burned to the ground. Other video captured rioters targeting white people for attacks.
Another reason you won’t hear about the very real anti-white racism out of Milwaukee in the media is that it’s not a “safe space” for white journalists. Independent journalist Tim Pool posted a video to YouTube notifying his followers that he needed to leave Milwaukee due to escalating racial tensions.

In an appearance on the center-left Rubin Report, Pool tells the story of a shooting he was witness to, that the media has neglected.
In what was actually a crime motivated by the race of the victim, Pool witnessed an 18-year old white teenager just after he had been shot in the neck. Against the backdrop described above, think one might (at the very least) suspect this shooting could possibly be a hate crime, based on skin color?
And how did the media report on it? The Dallas Morning News tells us that an 18-year old man was shot and wounded during the protests – and makes no mention of his race. ABC News mentions that one man was shot during protests, making no mention of his race. However, every single time they refer to Sylville Smith, it’s as “23-year old Sylville smith, who was black.”Similarly, moments after two Muslim men were brutally murdered Saturday, cries of “hate crime” and blaming Donald Trump immediately ensued. (Most recent information from the investigation suggests it was an Hispanic man who murdered the Muslims, stemming from a dispute between two groups.)
For all the talk of “white privilege,” we don’t seem to have the privilege of having an honest media — or protection from hate crimes that those with different skin tones have.
