While the left continues to fall back on their trademark attack strategy of employing the race card any chance they get when assaulting GOP nominee Donald Trump, an actual racist is running for U.S. Senate.Former KKK leader David Duke announced his bid for office, and as you might imagine, the Internet blew up with all sorts of colorful responses.
According to TheBlaze, Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, an avowed white supremacist, officially signed up Friday to run for U.S. Senate in Louisiana.
“I’m proud to announce my candidacy for the United States Senate,” Duke said in a video before he signed qualifying papers. “I believe in equal rights for all and respect for all Americans. However, what makes me different is I also demand respect for the rights and heritage of European Americans.”
Duke’s candidacy comes as the state is grappling with deep racial tensions after the shooting death of a black man by white police officers and the killing of three law enforcement officers by a black man. It also comes one day after Donald Trump accepted the GOP nomination for president.Duke said in the video, “I’m overjoyed to see Donald Trump and most Americans embrace most of the issues that I’ve championed for years. My slogan remains America first.”
“A revolution is coming in the United States of America for the real people, the vast majority of the American people,” Duke added.
A registered Republican, Duke is seeking an open seat vacated by Republican David Vitter. Nearly two dozen candidates have signed up for the Senate race. The seat is open because Vitter decided not to seek re-election on the Nov. 8 ballot.
Clearly, this man has a lot of issues and is borderline nuts to think he has any sort of shot at winning a senate seat in modern America. Also, at times, it feels like Duke is purposefully trying to destroy Donald Trump’s campaign by constantly throwing out support for him. And while it’s unfair to judge the man by folks like Duke who endorse him, nonetheless, it’s something the left will have a field day with.
Trump has already addressed this issue, so hopefully it won’t continue to come up.
Interestingly, there’s no outrage from the left over the fact that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton once gave praise to Robert Byrd, a former KKK leader.

Strange how no one seems to be up in arms over that one, right?
As you might imagine, this announcement has also exploded all over Twitter:
I thought I was the only one who was blaming Donald Trump for the rise of David Duke!

David Duke looks like how people in movies look when their soul gets sucked out https://t.co/ATnOJO0Aef

As you can see, Van Jones wasted absolutely zero time connecting Duke to Trump, yet again playing the racist card, which is insane, yet absolutely to be expected.
Look, no one in their right mind would want David Duke to actually win a Senate seat. The man is clearly, beyond a shadow of a doubt, a white supremacist.
Whether you are a Trump fan or not, connecting these two so closely together is absurd. The real estate mogul has never said anything that would lead one to believe he is ideologically in agreement with Duke’s racist principles.
It’s just another emotional ploy being used by the left to assassinate Trump’s character without using facts.
It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out and how the GOP in Louisiana will respond to Duke’s announcement.
