Fox News just did something that’s throwing fuel on the fire concerning the rumor that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is going to be Donald Trump’s VP pick.According to new reports, the network has suspended him as a contributor.
TheBlaze is reporting, “Fox News Channel has mutually agreed to suspend its contributor agreement with Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich effective immediately,” executive vice president for news Jay Wallace said in a statement to CNN. “Due to the intense media speculation about Gingrich’s potential selection as Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate, we felt it best to halt his contributor role on the network to avoid all conflicts of interest that may arise.”
Gingrich is, however, expected to appear on Fox News host Sean Hannity’s program later this evening.
Stelter added on Twitter he “had been planning to write about the Newt-working-for-Fox conflict for days” and asked the news network for comment this afternoon.

Back in 2011, Gingrich was also suspended by Fox when he ran for the GOP presidential nomination. Some folks would give two thumbs up to Trump and Gingrich on the same ticket and no doubt such a pairing would give delicate snowflakes on the left a raging fit of ulcers and temper tantrums befitting a group of three-year-olds at daycare.
It’s interesting to see that the former Speaker will be on Hannity tonight, and since we all know he’s a huge Trump fan, one has to wonder if this subject is going to pop up or if Fox will provide some sort of alternate explanation.
