Our nation today is reeling from the deadliest attack on U.S. police officers since September 11, 2001. Five police officers sent to protect protesters responding to recent officer-involved shootings in Minnesota and Louisiana were killed in a coordinated sniper attack. Seven more were injured, including some in critical condition.Authorities have three suspects in custody and have just killed a fourth, after attempting an hours-long negotiation attempt with him. They have just revealed the deceased suspect’s chilling last comments and unimaginable intent.
As Fox reports:
The Dallas police chief said moments ago that the suspect in the ambush on police officers was killed using an explosive device detonated by a robot.
David O. Brown said a hostage negotiator was able to talk with the suspect for hours before police determined they had no choice but to move in to end the standoff.Brown said one suspect was cornered for several hours on the second floor of a parking garage, but negotiations broke down and there was an exchange of gunfire.
He said officers determined that the only option was to use a “bomb robot,” placing an explosive device on its extension and detonating it near the suspect.
“Other options would have exposed our officers to grave danger,” he said. The suspect did not kill himself, said Brown, noting earlier inaccurate reports. Brown shared some of the comments made by the gunman before he was killed.
“He said he was upset about Black Lives Matter”, said Brown, and was angry about recent police shootings and at white people. The suspect stated he wanted to kill white people, especially white officers, said Brown. The suspect also warned about IEDs placed around the downtown area.
The suspect stated he was not affiliated with any group and that he acted on his own.
Brown said the man seemed “lucid” during the talks.
The investigation is continuing into whether there were more suspects involved in what appeared to be a coordinated assault.
Naturally, President Obama and many in the liberal media and otherwise, are choosing to blame guns for this unspeakable tragedy. Of course, if you are President Obama, this is another crisis-opportunity to further his ideological agenda and advance the dismantling of Americans’ Second Amendment rights. Never let a good crisis go to waste, as his pal Rahm Emmanuel taught him.
Blaming guns also allows them to take the focus off himself, who has blood on his hands for his divisive, racially-infused rhetoric and blame of police officers — that he reinforced in the hours leading up to the Dallas massacre.
Who would have thought that the first black president would not only turn his back on the golden opportunity to advance race relations, but actually set this nation back decades?
