As authorities continue to investigate the horrific Orlando terror attack, the shooter’s wife has become a major person of interest.Noor Salman claims she tried to talk her husband out of the attack — but at the same time helped him scope out numerous areas to attack. And that’s not all — she had been seen on video footage accompanying her husband as he purchased the ammunition used in the massacre. A grand jury is current deciding whether or not she’ll be charged for withholding information from law enforcement, and Salman appears to think they’re not going to be giving her the benefit of the doubt.
After her now-deceased husband had given her access to his bank accounts, Salman appears to have vanished.Via AOL News:
Omar Mateen, 29, added his wife, 30-year-old Noor Salman, to his life-insurance policy and gave her access to his bank accounts, CNN reported on Friday, citing unidentified law-enforcement sources. Now, Salman has vanished, according to the Sun Sentinel.
She’s “no longer here,” Omar Mateen’s father, Seddique, told reporters outside of his Fort Pierce, Florida, home on Wednesday.Salman was reportedly living with Mateen’s father in Fort Pierce when her husband attacked the nightclub. Public records list her most recent address — presumably where she lived with Mateen after they married in 2013 — as a 15-minute drive from his father’s home in Fort Pierce.
But Seddique told reporters that Salman was no longer in the area, either.
At one point, Salman was cooperating with the FBI. She told the agency that she was aware of her husband’s intentions to attack the club and tried to talk him out of it.Sources told CNN on Friday that the two were texting during the attack, and that Salman tried to call him several times after news of the shooting broke, but he did not answer.
Both Mateen’s father and wife have been added to federal no fly lists before her disappearance, so she won’t be getting very far. It’s only a matter of time before she turns up, and when she does, it certainly would appear she’ll be headed where Hillary Clinton should be. too.
