hopeful all-out-of-hope Sen. Bernie Sanders may be wrong about most things, but he’s spot on about one. The Democratic National Committee has been in the tank for his rival Hillary Clinton from the get-go. In the most transparent display we’ve seen in some time from Democrat so-called leaders, Little Debbie and the DNC made it obvious from the beginning they were trying to grease the path for their anointed one — largely by trying everything in its power to minimize exposure to either candidate.
As the New York Post reports:
A document leaked by a hacker who took responsibility for the Democratic National Committee data breach appears to show the DNC working on behalf of Hillary Clinton from the start of the presidential campaign — just as Bernie Sanders has claimed.
A DNC document dated May 26, 2015 – a month after Sanders kicked off his presidential bid from the Capital lawn – described “our goals & strategy” are to “provide a contrast between the GOP field and HRC.”HRC stands for Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The document, posted online by the hacker “Guccifer 2.0”, outlines ways to hit back at the GOP presidential field, such as “use specific hits to muddy the waters around ethics, transparency and campaign finance attacks on HRC.”
The DNC stayed officially neutral during the prolonged primary between Clinton and Sanders. But some Sanders backers say the document outlines what they’ve felt all along: the system was rigged in favor of Clinton.
Needless to say, this confirmation in stark black-and-white isn’t going over well with Bernie supporters, sharpening the rift even as party leaders are trying to bring unity.“With proof that #Bernie never even had a chance, I shall double down and vote #BernieOrBust in Nov. @TheDemocrats,” tweeted “BernieOrBust,” a Sanders supporter from Chicago.
Sanders has declined to drop out of the Democratic primary race. Among his demands to Clinton and the Democratic National Committee: oust DNC leader Debbie Wasserman Schultz and get rid of super delegates.
“There are lots of valid reasons to question Schultz’s leadership, including how the DNC conducted itself during this last primary election season,” Sanders’ backer, Ben Jealous, former head of the NAACP, told The Post. “However, what is just as concerning is how the party has performed in general under her leadership.”
But wouldn’t you know, true to the modus operandi of woman the organization’s been pushing for as president, the DNC is deflecting any responsibility and attempting to discredit the facts that have just been exposed. But instead of blaming a “right-wing conspiracy,” the DNC is accusing the Russians behind the hacking the led to the document leak of a “disinformation campaign.”
“We believe that today’s release and the claims around it may be a part of a disinformation campaign by the Russians,” the official said, declining to address the alleged collusion.
DNC’s attempts to diminish notwithstanding, one has to imagine today’s leak only adds further fuel to Bernie’s fire on these fronts — including ousting Little Debbie Wasserman. And something tells me (Michelle Jesse) Hillary and her minions will be happy to throw Little Debbie overboard now that she’s served their purposes.
Too bad, so sad.
The bigger question is, will angry Sanders supporters come around to “unity” in time for the election or are they lost to Hillary Clinton forever?
