Watching the videos of the anti-Trump protesters terrorizing supporters, you can’t help but note how restrained the Trump supporters remained. Whether they were having their clothing ripped, or pelted with eggs and tomatoes, the individuals seemed more surprised than angry. However, if these sort of assaults continue, it’s unfortunately not difficult to imagine an escalation. Even Donald Trump recognizes that – or perhaps it’s more accurate to say “especially” Donald Trump.
This morning he tweeted what might be construed as a warning to future would-be
protesters terrorists saying, “the thugs were lucky supporters remained peaceful!”
The Mayor of San Jose did a terrible job of ordering the protection of innocent people. The thugs were lucky supporters remained peaceful!

Many of the thugs that attacked the peaceful Trump supporters in San Jose were illegals. They burned the American flag and laughed at police— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 4, 2016
For their part, Trump’s opponents Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton have spoken out against violence. On Friday, Bernie Sanders urged anti-Trump protesters not to use force against his supporters saying “We are not going to defeat Trump by throwing eggs or getting involved in violence of any kind.”
Hillary Clinton’s campaign chief, John Podesta, also spoke out against the protesters, saying “Violence against supporters of any candidate has no place in this election.”

Something tells me the rent-a-mobs may not get that memo.
