With the critical Indiana primary now just four days away, the Gov. Mike Pence is finally set to endorse.Via CNN:
Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is expected to endorse Ted Cruz’s presidential bid Friday, two sources familiar with the plans told CNN.
Pence’s support comes ahead of the state’s crucial May 3 primary, which could help determine whether Cruz can secure enough delegates to prevent Republican front-runner Donald Trump from winning the nomination outright before the GOP convention.
Pence is a scheduled guest on Greg Garrison’s midday radio show Friday.During a stop in Indianapolis before the interview, Cruz said he would be listening to the show and encouraged others to do the same.
“I will say this: I have tremendous respect for Gov. Mike Pence,” Cruz said, with his choice for vice president, Carly Fiorina, standing at this side. “He has been an incredible leader for the state of Indiana. He has really demonstrated that when you cut taxes when you reduce regulations, that jobs follow.”
The latest Indiana poll shows a tight race, with Trump leading by two points — well within the poll’s 4.75 point margin of error. So, these late-breaking developments have the potential to make or break — depending on how they’re received by voters. Meanwhile, Donald Trump received the endorsement of legendary Indiana Hoosiers basketball coach Bobby Knight, which could carry significant weight in the state.[Note: This article was written by Michelle Jesse, Associate Editor]
