This is gonna be a fairly short story because it’s just that disturbing. I love the verse in Proverbs 17:28 (NIV) “Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.”I think someone should take this verse and mail it to President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry after their past comments regarding the Paris Islamic terror attack. I think y’all saw Obama’s inane responses during his press conference from Turkey. But the statement made by Kerry yesterday in Paris just has to have everyone wondering if he was suffering from jet lag or is just that much of a chucklehead.
As reported by CNS News, “Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday drew a distinction between Friday’s terror attacks in Paris and attacks last January that targeted a magazine known for its irreverent treatment of Islam, saying the most recent ones had no “rationale.”
“There’s something different about what happened [on Friday] from Charlie Hebdo, and I think everybody would feel that,” he told staff and families at the U.S. Embassy in Paris. “There was a sort of particularized focus and perhaps even a legitimacy in terms of – not a legitimacy, but a rationale that you could attach yourself to somehow and say, ‘okay, they’re really angry because of this and that.’
“This Friday was absolutely indiscriminate,” Kerry continued. “It wasn’t to aggrieve one particular sense of wrong. It was to terrorize people. It was to attack everything that we do stand for. That’s not an exaggeration.” One hundred and twenty-nine people were killed in a series of coordinated gun and bomb attacks in the French capital on Friday night, claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL). Last January, masked gunmen shot dead 12 people in an attack on the Paris offices of Charlie Hebdo, and in a linked attack a terrorist killed four Jews during a siege at a kosher supermarket. Those attacks were claimed by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).”Of course it was President Obama who referred to the January 2015 Paris Islamic terror attack as “random violence” — just like the Islamic jihadist attack at Ft. Hood was “workplace violence.” And during his remarks on Monday from Turkey, Obama referred to the recent Paris Islamic terror attack as a “setback.”
Where in God’s name did these two fellas come from? Now they both will vehemently assert that the greatest threat to the world is climate change. Ask either of these guys to say “Islamic terrorism” or even “radical Islam” and watch how easily they become tongue-tied, falling all over themselves.
And to say our strategy is working against ISIS, well, that’s just plain nuts.I actually thought when John Kerry equated Israeli security to the Palestinian stabbing attacks he couldn’t stoop any lower. However, to try and differentiate between the January 2015 Islamic terror attack and that which occurred last week Friday is just insidious.
Innocent people were attacked by those inspired by Islamic dogma and ideology. That is it, end of story.
To attempt to find a rationale and legitimacy for the assault against Charlie Hebdo and the Jewish kosher supermarket is further cause for concern about the level of competency of John Kerry to effectively execute his duties as the top diplomat of the United States. Lest I remind you of his statement as to why the issue of releasing four American hostages held by Iran was not part of the Iranian nuclear deal.
Kinda have to ask, if ISIS is so “contained”, then what the heck are the French and Russians bombing? And how completely foolish is it for someone to say ISIS is geographically contained when we now know ISIS delivered the orders for the Paris attack from Syria to Belgium.
Obviously, President Obama doesn’t understand the ability to deliver orders from Syria does not define containment — that is the 21st century battlefield.
Can I make a kind recommendation? Let’s all do Obama and Kerry a favor, email them Proverbs 17:28, maybe they’ll heed that advice. And while we are at it, let me remind you all of another pertinent piece of wisdom from King Solomon, Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV), “The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.”
Just sayin’ folks.
