Human rights activists – they’re just lovely folks, huh? They want the Guantanamo Bay detention facility closed, yet this past Sunday, Obama’s new BFF, Raul Castro, had 200 Cuban dissidents arrested. Where’s the outrage from the human rights activists?Five Americans are now being held by Iran, but Obama wanted his Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the Iranian nuclear agreement, signed and where are the human rights activists? American hostages don’t matter because they don’t fit into the political narrative of the liberal progressive left — and President Obama, because, Obama MUST shut down Gitmo before he departs by hook, crook, or unconstitutional executive order since it meets his campaign promise. He wants an Iranian deal because he can say that’s a great foreign policy achievement — you know, he did something no one else has done, regardless of how stupid it is.
But where are the human rights activists who care so much about Islamic terrorists and their rights? Why don’t they stage rallies and protests demanding our Americans come home from Iran? Why are their voices so silent when Obama opens up diplomatic relations with a violent and repressive communist regime? But I have an even bigger question for these leftist human rights activists — do you give a damn about the eradication of Christians in the Middle East?
As reported by Fox News, “The dwindling Christian population of the Middle East could vanish completely within a decade unless the global community intervenes, say alarmed aid groups who say followers of the Bible are being killed, driven from their land or forced to renounce their faith at an unprecedented pace.
The world has largely stood by as a dangerous tide of intolerance has washed over the region, according to a new study by the international Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need. The study includes disturbing data about the plunging numbers of Christians in the part of the world that gave birth to the faith, and makes a dire prediction of what could happen.
The Christian population in Iraq has plummeted from 1.5 million in 2003 to current estimates of 275,000 and could be gone for good within five years, according to the report. The dwindling numbers are due to genocide, refugees fleeing to other countries, those who are internally displaced, and others hiding in plain sight and not allowing their faith to be publicly known. A dozen Christian families flee Iraq each day, according to 21st Century Wilberforce Initiative, a Falls Church, Va., nonprofit dedicated to promoting religious freedom worldwide. “Last Christmas was the first time that bells did not ring out in the city of Mosul in 2,000 years,” Brown said. “I think that speaks to the reality that hundreds of thousands of Christian families are living on the edge of extinction.

You know what the response is from the left? We need to do more for the Muslims fleeing the Middle East. That’s a humanitarian crisis. The Obama administration prevents Chaldean and Assyrian Christians from entering the United States – as we’ve reported here.Yet, we’re told the Syrians that MUST be allowed entry into America. And you know what Obama and his progressive socialist acolytes will say — if George W. Bush hadn’t “invaded” Iraq, none of this would have happened. Once again, you just have to love how the left finds a way to eschew any responsibility or accountability for their actions and the consequences. Somehow they just seem to forget that Obama is in the White House when something goes terribly wrong, like the emergence of the “jayvee” team known as ISIS.
Where are the human rights activists who get so doggone angry with Christian bakers, florists, and portrait studio owners who, because of their faith, don’t support same-sex marriage? I suppose the secular humanist leftists hate Christians so much they prefer to align with Islamo-fascists for the eradication of Christians from the Middle East. And who cares? After all, most folks have no clue about history to know that there were Jews and Christians long before Mohammed made Kadeisha his first convert to Islam around 612 AD.
But let me say something very important: the fault doesn’t fall only on the reticence of the liberal progressive left for what is happening in the Middle East — and yes, I deem it intentional. The evangelical Christian community in the United States is also to blame…why? Because in 2012 for the presidential election, some 7 to 8 million Christians did not vote. And because they didn’t vote, not a single bell rang in Mosul, Iraq and for the first time in 2,000 years there’s not a single Christian in Mosul. We have a president who cares little about the Chaldeans, the Assyrians, the Copts, and the Yazidis. Obama cares little about the Christian genocide happening before his eyes. After all, if you recall Obama’s 2009 speech at the University of Cairo, it gave you a clear window into where his sympathies lie.
Domestically, we know Obama despises those who cling to their “guns and religion.” Obama invites Muslim clerics to the White House to discuss “countering violent extremism” yet has a Homeland Security secretary who states saying Islamic in conjunction with terrorism is offensive. Just don’t be a “right wing Christian” because you then you’re deemed the extremist.
I am sick of these pastors and ministers who are sitting back and allowing this to happen to our Christian brothers and sisters and are silent. If any of you believe for one second that Hillary Clinton will be any different, you’re stuck on stupid. And God save Christians worldwide if Bernie Sanders were to become president.
“In Syria, where Aid to the Church in Need has sent $9 million in aid to help Christians driven from small villages north of Damascus, an estimated 15,000 Christians have left their villages to seek refuge in Homs, Zaidal and Fairouzeh in recent days, according to Syrian Orthodox Archbishop Selwanos Boutros Alnemeh. He told the charity Christians are terrified that ISIS, in a constant see-saw battle for territory with government forces, will capture their villages and kill all non-Muslims. They are particularly fearful for the key city of Sadad, where Christians lived peacefully with Muslims for centuries. “We are afraid that ISIS — which God will hopefully prevent — will conquer the town. We would lose the center of Christianity in our diocese,” Archbishop Selwanos said, adding that two years ago, jihadists held the town briefly and killed at least 45 Christians, and destroyed churches and homes.”
At the National Prayer Breakfast in February 2015 — which occurred after the Jordanian pilot had been burned alive by ISIS –President Obama chastised Christians about being on their high horse.
Obama referred to the Crusades and made his moral statement of equivalency. What he failed to state was that Pope Urban II called for the First Crusade in 1095 because Christians were being attacked and killed by marauding Muslims – in other words, Islamic jihadists.
So Obama won’t do anything about the persecution of Christians because there is a sinful tendency in all of us. In other words, he’s full of empty rhetoric while Christians are being slaughtered and driven from their ancestral homes. There is no excuse for this.
Plain and simple, Barack Obama is not a defender of Christianity. Obama is not cut from the same cloth of Charles Martel, Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar (El Cid), John of Austria, or Polish King Jan Sobieski and if you do not know the prominence of these men in history, then read. Instead, Obama will be remembered in the same way as Byzantine Emperor Constantine XI Palaiologos.
They called Charles Martel “The Hammer” – that’s exactly what America and indeed Western civilization needs now. Ten years, the clock is ticking for Christians in the Middle East — do we care?
