As Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers continue their free fall, will this morning’s new development in the scandal surrounding her email add a new gust of downward momentum? If anyone is still paying attention — not numbed to the seemingly interminable revelations of the Mrs. Clinton’s untruths and impropriety — it very well should.New information released this morning by government watchdog group Judicial Watch reveals GAPS totaling five months in the Hillary Clinton emails the State Department has released. This, after the former Secretary of State claimed under oath that she’d said all of her emails had been turned over, per the court order requiring it. Furthermore, other State Department officials had been informed of the gap — suggesting that Mrs. Clinton’s statement that “everything” had been turned over was not a mere slip or oversight.
As WND reports:
There are gaps totaling five months in the Hillary Clinton emails released by the State Department, the watchdog group Judicial Watch announced Monday morning.
The revelation emerged after a court ordered the release of State Department documents as part of Judicial Watch’s effort to obtain Clinton emails under the Freedom of Information Act.Emails sent and received by Clinton on her private server are missing over periods totaling five months, beginning when she took office as secretary of state in 2009.
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said the gaps indicate Clinton lied under oath when she said all her emails had been turned over, and it suggested government officials had not turned over everything they were required to deliver.
Fitton said other State Department officials, including the one in charge of email production, Patrick Kennedy, previously had been informed of the five-month gap.Judicial Watch obtained that statement, made in response to a court order, in separate FOIA litigation.
So, here we have a five MONTH gap in documents that appears to have been known — and lied about — by State Department officials, including the former Secretary of State and wannabe POTUS Hillary Clinton. Compare this to the mere 18-1/2 MINUTE gap in recordings that contributed to the ultimate downfall of Republican President Richard Nixon. What is the former Secretary of State hiding?
Many of us have marveled that Mrs. Clinton could still even be in the race for the White House with all that’s been revealed to date about her email scandal — including what’s been revealed about the candidate’s integrity and character.
How much of the relative “so what” reaction by the liberal media and voters is indicative of different standards for Democrats vs. Republicans? As we’ve mentioned here previously, it’s not just Nixon; Gen. David Petraeus also comes to mind as an example of a conservative dealt swift and definitive punishment for what many would argue were lesser violations.
Will this apparently willful, months-long gap in disclosure be the final straw that broke the back of Mrs. Clinton’s chances for the White House — and could it even send her to the Big House instead?
