This morning yet another police officer was shot outside of Chicago at about 9 a.m. local time. According to CBS Local, sources say the officer is dead. A massive manhunt is underway for the suspects — a black man, a white man and possibly a woman. As we all know by now, last Friday, Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth was murdered while pumping gas. His assailant, Shannon Miles, who happens to be black, came “creeping up” behind him in the darkness, shot him in the back of the head and kept firing as Goforth lay dying.
What you probably don’t know is that just two weeks earlier, Armed Black Panther members had marched in front of the Waller County jail in Hempstead, Texas outside of Houston shouting “You’re gonna stop doing what you’re doing, or we will start creeping up on you in the darkness.”
As Breitbart reports, “the comments, made by a leader of the Houston-based chapter of the New Black Panther Party, were captured on a short video clip from the scene by the Houston Chronicle. The Panther members were protesting the death of inmate Sandra Bland who took her own life by hanging herself with a trash bag after her arrest following a traffic stop in the town of Prairie View. She was accused of an illegal lane change and assaulting a police officer. After being left in jail by her family for three days, Bland hung herself. Not part of a chant, the march leader, wearing the rank of colonel, shouted directly to Harris County mounted deputies through a megaphone. “You think we’re not pissed off a bunch about y’all killing our sisters? You think it’s okay? [We’re] the wrong n***ers to mess with. You’re gonna stop doing what you’re doing, or we will start creeping up on you in the darkness.”
Are these people wantonly gunning down police officers simply following orders issued by activists ?
Just this past weekend Black Lives Matter protestors in Minnesota chanted more hateful rhetoric against policemen, only hours after Deputy Goforth was murdered. “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon,” activists with the St. Paul, Minn. branch of Black Lives Matter chanted while marching behind a group of police officers down a highway just south of the state fair grounds.
There is a very disturbing trend to all this. And still we hear nothing from the president or the Department of Justice. How do we expect our law enforcement officers to go to work every day if they face this sort of violence and threat? This cannot end well.
