I know lots of people are using their hatred for Comcast to justify support for the FCC’s (i.e government’s) sweeping takeover of the Internet innocuously named “Net Neutrality.”But if you think that’s going to improve your service, fugetaboutit – at least if real-life experience is any predictor.
According to a survey of U.S. adults carried out by Ipsos, government offices have even WORSE customer service than telecommunications, which includes Internet and cellphones.
Want to put yourself in customer service hell? Imagine trying to call the government with a connection issue. It always makes me laugh when progressives want the government to step in and control more “evil” businesses. Have they been to the DMV recently?
Ajit Pai and Mike O’Rielly, the two lone Republican commissioners on the FCC who voted against the new regulations, agree the regulations are far-reaching, largely unchecked and pose a threat to consumer bills and to innovation in the industry. According to an analysis by Watchdog.org, the regulations “give more power to government, more restrictions to innovators, and more costs to the people.”
