I’m not sure if this article will land me on some sort of Islamophobic list along with my boss, Col. Allen West, but what the heck, I’m just reporting the facts. And I have to say I’m more than a little unnerved when I connect the dots between all these stories. Of course I could just be over-reacting…
Right here in my home state of Florida, just up the road in Melbourne, vandals set fire to the New Shiloh Christian Church. Fire sprinklers helped contain the flames to a storage unit connected to the 125,000-square-foot building, which is being remodeled. However, what is disturbing is that the words “Allahu Akbar” were spray-painted on the storage unit.
Police say they are hesitant to label the case as a hate crime because they don’t want to alarm the public. At this time they are calling it arson and criminal mischief.I have two words to add to this story: “workplace violence.” But yeah, I’m over-reacting.
But how about this one?
Last Saturday, a man in Detroit stabbed two people at a bus stop — but only after he made sure they WEREN’T Muslims. The victims were standing at the bus stop outside of Detroit according to Southfield Police Chief Eric Hawkins. Several people there “engaged in conversation” until the suspect, identified by Hawkins as 39-year-old Terrence Lavaron Thomas, “asked some of the folks there if they were Muslims.”
Two of them answered and said they were not.“[Thomas] was not not happy with that answer,” Hawkins said. Shortly after, “without provocation,” Thomas pulled out a 3-inch folding knife and attacked.
Both victims are in their early 50′s. One was stabbed five times while the other was stabbed in the hand as he tried to stop the attack.
But I’m sure that’s really just “random” and has absolutely nothing to do with religion, right?
So we shouldn’t worry our pretty little heads over the fact that the U.S. is expecting to welcome thousands of Syrians into the country as refugees in the next year.
House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mike McCaul (R-Texas) said last week “I think this would be a huge mistake if we bring in these (refugees) into the United States that could potentially be radicalized…We’re not only trying to keep these guys, the foreign fighters, out, but under this would be a — a federally sanctioned welcome party, if you will, to potential terrorists in the United States.”
ABC News reports an FBI official also questioned whether the U.S. intelligence community – with few assets on the ground in Syria and little insight into the country from elsewhere – can provide authorities with the information they need to properly determine whether any refugee could pose a threat.
“You have to have information to vet,” said FBI Assistant Director Michael Steinbach, who heads the bureau’s counterterrorism division. “Databases don’t [have] the information on those individuals, and that’s the concern.”
But we shouldn’t worry at all because the Homeland Security officials assure us Syrian refugees will receive the most “rigorous screening.”
Anyway, all this militant Islam fearmongering is complete nonsense because we all know the biggest crisis facing our nation is THE WEATHER.
Why, just recently, MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes said “The single most important thing we face globally is the fact that we are heating the planet to a level that has never before been tried, while also trying to save human civilization.”
“Talking to host Carson Daly on a program that airs at 1:30 in the morning, Hayes predicted, “100 years from now, people will look back and be like, ‘How did they talk about anything else, ever?’ Like, didn’t they understand they were sitting tied to train tracks with a train coming.”
Really? If there’s a train coming, my greatest fear is it has a big black flag on it.
